$27.7 million for one year! Warriors officially announce re-signing of 36-year-old Green to continue playing alongside Curry next season.

On July 31st Beijing time, the Golden State Warriors announced today that the team has signed forward Draymond Green. According to previous reports, Green signed a one-year, $27.7 million contract without a no-trade clause. Next season, he will continue to play alongside Curry.

The 36-year-old Green played 68 regular-season games last season, all starts; averaging 27.5 minutes per game, he recorded 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists. The veteran with 14 years of NBA experience has played 949 regular-season games (794 starts) for the Warriors in his career, averaging 8.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.3 steals in 28.6 minutes per game.

Green has earned numerous honors in his career: 2016-17 Defensive Player of the Year (first player in Warriors history to win the award); 4-time NBA All-Star; 2-time All-NBA selection; 9-time All-Defensive Team selection. He is the first player in Warriors history to be named to the All-Defensive First Team for three consecutive seasons (2014-15 to 2016-17) and the only Warriors player to make the All-Defensive Team for five straight seasons (2014-15 to 2018-19). Green is one of 14 players in NBA history with at least nine All-Defensive Team selections.

Green has helped the Warriors reach the playoffs 10 times, advance to the Finals 6 times, and win 4 NBA championships. In 169 playoff games (152 starts), he averaged 34.5 minutes per game, contributing 11.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.3 blocks. Green ranks first in several Warriors postseason statistical categories: playoff games played (169), rebounds (1,457), assists (1,020), steals (257), blocks (225), and triple-doubles (10).

Green was selected by the Warriors with the 35th overall pick in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft. He holds the Warriors' regular-season triple-double record (33); he ranks second in games played, third in rebounds, second in assists, third in steals, and second in blocks in team history. The Michigan State product is also the only second-round pick in NBA history to win at least four championships and be selected to four All-Star games.
