Riot Games has unveiled the first adjustments for LMHT 26.17, with many prominent champions involved. As Yone, Yasuo, and others receive power increases, Vayne and Spear of Shojin continue to be nerfed due to their overwhelming impact on the current meta.
The list of champion buffs in LMHT 26.17 includes Cho'Gath, Irelia, Hecarim, LeBlanc, Qiyana, Yasuo, Yone, Trundle, and Aurelion Sol.
Among them, Yone and Yasuo are the most attention-grabbing. This duo has already benefited from recent changes related to items and attack speed, so the decision to continue buffing them has surprised many players.
In particular, Yone has been performing well in the top lane. If the new buffs are significant enough, this champion could become a more frequent pick in both solo queue and high-level competitive play.
Irelia, Hecarim, LeBlanc, and Qiyana are also receiving support from Riot to increase their competitiveness against the current meta-dominant picks.
On the other side, Vayne, Nasus, Thresh, Xerath, Graves, and Nocturne are among those being nerfed. These are primarily champions that currently hold high influence in the meta.
Vayne is a special case, as she is not only strong in the traditional ADC role but also used as a top lane pick.
Her percentage health damage and range advantage make Vayne particularly annoying when facing many fighters and tanks. The mere fact that Vayne remains unbanned in champion select can already limit some opponent picks.
Therefore, Riot aims to reduce this champion's influence rather than completely remove the top lane Vayne playstyle.
Not only champions, Spear of Shojin continues to be nerfed by Riot in LMHT 26.17.
This item is widely chosen by fighters due to its good combination of damage and sustain. Riot considers the previous nerf to have been on the right track but still insufficient to curb the dominance of Spear of Shojin in high-level games.
On the other hand, Phantom Dancer will be buffed. Apart from Jhin, this item is not a priority for many champions, so Riot wants to make it a more attractive option for the ADC class.
LMHT 26.17 may not bring about a complete revolution, but the adjustments to Yone, Yasuo, Vayne, and Spear of Shojin promise to keep the top lane and fighter meta in a state of significant flux.
