Hello everyone, I’m Gamer Xiaodi.
With the S40 season already past its midpoint, the official King’s Glory team has started planning the preview livestream for season S41. How’s your rank climbing going? Recently, many friends have asked me which heroes are currently the best for ranking up, so this episode I’ll share some recommendations.
The five roles—top, jungle, mid, bottom, and support—are represented by Xiahou Dun, Liu Bei, Zhen Ji, Galo, and Cai Wenji, all boasting win rates above 52%.
Let me highlight Liu Bei and Cai Wenji. Since the season’s early rework, Liu Bei’s power has significantly increased compared to before. Although his playstyle and mechanics have changed slightly, they remain largely familiar, making him easy for players to pick up. His current strength lies in the greatly improved shield, which no longer breaks instantly, allowing him to survive longer in chaotic team fights. Coupled with his solid jungle farming and snowballing ability, Liu Bei’s overall power has risen considerably.
As for Galo, the key to success in lower ranks is simply focusing on farming. This hero has almost no early-game strength or self-defense, but once equipped with enough gold to complete items, Galo quickly becomes a deadly force capable of taking over the game. Additionally, opponents in low to mid ranks often lack the coordination to counter him effectively, making Galo quite user-friendly overall.
The five roles—top, jungle, mid, bottom, and support—are filled by Cao Cao, Yang Jian, Zhuge Liang, Airi, and Zhang Liang, each maintaining win rates above 52%.
Let’s focus on Yang Jian and Airi. Yang Jian’s strength carried over from last season, but surprisingly, his role has gradually shifted from top lane to jungle. If you’ve watched recent pro matches, you’ll notice Yang Jian almost exclusively appears as a jungler. This role suits him better because his “Heaven and Earth” form is very powerful—he’s tanky and immune to crowd control, making him hard to kill. However, this requires stable gold income, and jungle is one of the most consistent sources. Also, his first skill’s hit rate has improved, greatly enhancing his ganking ability, so jungle fits Yang Jian perfectly now.
Airi, after two nerfs, has seen a drop in strength but remains playable. She can now flexibly build either magic or physical items. Magic builds offer better survivability thanks to items like Burning Dominance and Twilight, making her effective against dive-heavy teams but weaker against tank-heavy lineups. Physical builds are more aggressive, dealing heavy damage that even tanks struggle to withstand, but require a good damage environment to shine. Ultimately, item choices should adapt to your team’s composition.
That’s all for now. If you found this helpful, please give a like to show support. If you have any questions, thoughts, or requests, leave a comment below—I read them all!
