Three peak matchups took place within four days, highlighting the fierce competition in this KPL Summer Split! Previously, it was difficult to see even one peak confrontation in the KPL playoffs! WB and TG went the full seven games once more. Yet, WB's showing in this peak battle was notably underwhelming!
After four games, the teams were tied 2-2, with the fifth game becoming the decisive match point. At 4 minutes 50 seconds, WB claimed the first Abyssal Dragon. By 9 minutes 20 seconds, TTG eliminated two opponents in the mid lane, then capitalized by taking down Lao Fuzi, completing a zero-for-three exchange. Between 11 minutes 10 seconds and 11 minutes 30 seconds, after destroying the mid lane inhibitor, TTG wiped out four enemies and pushed the minion wave to destroy the crystal, securing the match point first.
In this game, Qingqing demonstrated to the entire community just how powerful the combination of Tongtian side lane and Tongtian hero can be!Qingqing’s Cao Cao almost single-handedly solo killed WB’s key carry Cang three times, nearly dismantling WB’s rhythm alone. TTG dominated this game, ultimately forcing WB to drop frames repeatedly at the end.
Nonetheless, WB's ability to secure second place in Group S shows their strength! In the sixth game,At 3 minutes 30 seconds, WB secured first blood by killing Xiahou Dun in the mid river. At 6 minutes 30 seconds, TTG invaded the red zone, but Beijing WB counterattacked promptly, winning a team fight two-for-one, with Lü Bu scoring a double kill. At 8 minutes 30 seconds, WB secured a two-for-one exchange near the Lord. At 10 minutes 40 seconds, after taking the Shadow Abyssal Dragon, WB eliminated three enemies; Nu Wa followed up by killing Gan Jiang Mo Ye for a double kill. At 14 minutes, WB launched an attack on the top lane; Jing scored a double kill, and after destroying the top and mid inhibitors, WB equalized to reach a peak showdown.
In the peak showdown, the team compositions differed! WB:Meng Tian, Jing, Shen Mengxi, Luban No.7, Luban Master; TTG: Cao Cao, Son of Yuanliu (Tank), Shen Mengxi, Luban No.7, Luban Master. This lineup meant WB’s early-game Jing had very little margin for error. Once their jungle collapsed, this Jing posed almost no threat upon entering fights, especially with the constraints from Jiaxin and Yuan Tank.
Looking at the economic difference on the side lanes, by 13 minutes, Cao Cao had a 3k gold lead over Meng Tian. TTG’s top and jungle secured advantages, allowing Luban to farm comfortably. Ultimately, TTG carried the Dragon army to wipe WB and end the match, successfully advancing to the winner’s final! They will face AG Super Play on August 29th to compete for a spot in the Summer Split finals!
Da Siming is one of the few junglers who can stand toe-to-toe with Kai without losing ground. Da Siming’s attacks are ranged, and with great mobility by stepping on his first skill, combined with slow-down equipment, he can continuously kite Kai, making it impossible for Kai to land hits. Although Kai’s ultimate can block some of Da Siming’s damage, Da Siming’s sustained output remains high and unaffected. Once Kai’s ultimate ends, Da Siming can instantly eliminate him.
Some players might say, if Kai uses his second skill to dash and engage Da Siming, wouldn’t Da Siming be done for? Da Siming’s ultimate has knockback and healing effects; if Kai gets too close, activating the ultimate will push Kai away, leaving Kai completely outmatched.
