Hello everyone, I’m Game Brother Xiao.
King of Glory recently unveiled the newest battle pass skins, marking the second phase of the global KWC special edition battle pass. With three skins included this time, many players are torn on whether to buy. In this episode, Xiao brings you a comparison featuring one of these skins, Lanling King’s Nuoshi, for your consideration. It’s worth mentioning that the skin chosen for comparison is Lanling King’s previous battle pass skin, the Beast Tamer Hunter, which is a perfectly matched counterpart. Let’s take a look together~
Regarding the posters, Nuoshi’s composition and concept seem superior to the Beast Tamer Hunter’s. Nuoshi is positioned toward the lower left with a dynamic pose, and the background clearly incorporates mask elements, creating a strong sense of pressure. As for the Beast Tamer Hunter, although the theme is basically the same, its overall presentation feels rather ordinary and conventional. Therefore, Nuoshi has a slight edge in terms of the poster.
As for the out-of-game models, Xiao feels the Beast Tamer Hunter is somewhat better. The Hunter’s outfit leans towards a suit style but incorporates contrasting elements, somewhat similar to the design of Da Siming’s Shadow Youdu, offering a pleasing visual effect. On the other hand, Nuoshi, frankly, isn’t very well known among the general public, so the related elements may not be as intuitively recognizable. Overall, it looks more like a disciple from a fantasy novel sect, which creates a bigger gap compared to the poster.
The Nuoshi skin, while predominantly dark red outside the game, actually features mostly blue and white effects in-game, making its effects noticeably better. First, almost all the blade light effects incorporate eye elements, which may not be friendly to those with trypophobia but definitely add a strong sense of pressure. Second, the overall effects are more abundant; for example, the ultimate skill has a very impactful visual effect, depicting Nuoshi tearing open a rift, and the first and second skills follow suit. Third, there are more details, such as in the stealth state, which includes many detailed designs: when entering stealth, smoke gathers and finally forms a mask, symbolizing Lanling King’s stealth. The stealth warning icon also changes from the usual yellow exclamation mark to a Nuoshi-related bell element.
The Beast Tamer Hunter skin, on the other hand, maintains a consistent dark red color throughout, but its effects are relatively weaker. Looking at all the effects, it’s clear they are somewhat less vivid than Nuoshi’s, with fewer elements used, and many effects are hard to identify. Additionally, the details are lacking; for example, the stealth entry and warning signs are almost identical to the original skin, only adding a bit of red-black smoke effect.
Overall, both being battle pass skins, Nuoshi’s quality is higher than the Beast Tamer Hunter’s, which is understandable since Nuoshi is an exclusive collector’s edition while the Beast Tamer Hunter is an advanced edition, so a distinction is naturally expected.
