It is now October, and the King’s tenth anniversary festivities are underway. The highlight, as always, is the annual anniversary return voting event. This year, a new set of skins will be eligible for the voting pool. However, unlike previous years, some skins that have never been part of the return sales will also be excluded from the voting pool this year. There are four such skins, and today we’ll review them.

These four skins are Mozi’s Golden Scorpio, Kai’s Hades the Underworld King, Wang Zhaojun’s Eternal Sailor Moon, and Di Renjie’s Evening Dress Mask. All of these were clearly marked by the official release as not eligible for anniversary return voting. Their return can only happen if the official arranges direct sales again.

Wang Zhaojun’s Eternal Sailor Moon

This skin for Wang Zhaojun is a collaboration with the classic childhood anime Sailor Moon, perfectly capturing the iconic Sailor Moon Usagi Tsukino’s image. The details are quite faithful, as the game’s collaboration skins are always well-crafted. In terms of effects, the passive shield is pink, with crescent moon elements at the base; normal attacks have golden effects, and enhanced attacks show golden stars at the corners; the first skill features a large golden star and Luna the cat, with the classic crescent moon wing symbol in the center; the second skill summons three stars with purple trails accompanied by a golden crescent moon rising; the ultimate skill’s magic circle includes silhouettes of other Sailor Moon characters. This skin fully embraces the anime elements and has players eagerly hoping for its return.

Di Renjie’s Evening Dress Mask

Similar to Wang Zhaojun’s skin, this one is also a Sailor Moon collaboration, representing the Masked character and crafted with exquisite detail. For effects, the first and second skills change the token colors to yellow and blue, each token leaving behind particle effects that look very dreamy; the ultimate skill is unique, summoning Wang Zhaojun’s Eternal Sailor Moon to cast together, and when hitting enemies, a golden clock appears above their heads. This skin feels great to play with and has earned much praise from players, with many professional players choosing Di Renjie often using this skin.

Mozi’s Golden Scorpio

This skin marks the game’s revival of the Saint Seiya skin series after many years, and it was changed from a direct sale to a limited edition. Regarding effects, this skin breaks from previous styles by changing the effects from bright golden yellow to a dark red tone, matching the Scorpio theme better. What players appreciate most is the changed casting style of the second skill and the hero model’s transformation, which completely breaks the usual perception of Mozi. This is definitely Mozi’s most standout skin, earning excellent reputation.

Kai’s Hades the Underworld King

This skin belongs to the same series as Mozi’s Golden Scorpio but is different in that it is the first to feature a villain character as the theme. Overall, it fits well, with dark-toned effects featuring elements like the planet Pluto. However, compared to Mozi’s Golden Scorpio, this skin is less innovative, presenting effects similar to Kai’s existing skins. Also, with Kai recently receiving the exclusive “God’s Sin” skin, the demand for this skin’s return is relatively low.

As collaboration skins, their return is quite challenging since it requires permission from the copyright holders. These four skins were likely explicitly stated at launch to be excluded from the anniversary return voting for this reason. So when the full voting list is revealed, don’t be surprised or disappointed if these skins are missing.
