Hey everyone, I'm Gaming Buddy.
The new season has been underway for a few days—how's your ranking progress going? This season, the development lane has seen significant changes, with its strength noticeably improved compared to previous seasons. Currently, across all tiers, five heroes stand out with high popularity and win rates, making them unique among all lanes. If your ranking journey isn't smooth, consider trying these heroes—you might discover a new breakthrough.
Here, "double high" refers to high popularity and high win rate. Generally, a popularity rate above 10% indicates substantial usage, while a win rate of at least 52% is considered high—though this standard applies specifically to the development lane, with variations across different lanes.

Based on this criteria, the current version features five "double high" heroes in the development lane: Galo, Hou Yi, Sun Quan, Li Yuanfang, and Di Renjie. Let's dive into each.
Galo's high win rate stems from her ability to dominate late-game with immense damage output. Most assassins can't even approach her unless the game collapses early, preventing her from reaching late-game. Her high popularity is simpler: Galo requires minimal complex mechanics, lacks mobility, and focuses on basic attacks, with timing her skill-switching being key.

Hou Yi is quite similar to Galo overall—once developed late-game, he can control matches. He's also primarily a basic-attack hero, though compared to Galo, Hou Yi's damage frequency late-game is faster while per-hit damage is slightly lower. Additionally, Hou Yi has utility early-game: his ultimate can support from extreme range, and scouting vision is a valuable skill.

Sun Quan's high win rate comes from his warrior-like attributes late-game, featuring substantial damage reduction. Switching to melee mode via his ultimate still delivers solid damage, plus continuous assault effects, making him highly impactful in-game. This effectiveness also makes him enjoyable to play, driving his popularity.

Li Yuanfang is a classic early-game hero. Learning his second skill early allows rapid lane clearance. After quick level-two advancement, he gains huge advantages in engaging enemies or securing resources. Most Li Yuanfang players secure early leads, then rapidly expand economic gaps. With economic advantage, it's a cycle of ganking, pushing towers, and defending jungle—quickly closing matches. The only caution: this hero must push towers swiftly, as his damage falls off late-game.

Di Renjie excels with strong warrior traits, plus skills that clear negative effects and reduce defense via his ultimate. Among marksmen, he's a versatile pick. He handles scenarios most marksmen struggle with—multiple divers, controllers, or frontliners—with relative ease, making him highly reliable. His popularity also stems from his ultimate requiring some accuracy, yet many master it.
