Hello everyone, I'm Game Xiaodi.
Before we start, there's a benefit: for those who want to playthe old version/classic server of Honor of Kingsplayers, all the heroes shown in the picture are playable, and you can experience them for free as shown below!

Let's continue. Among the five positions in Honor of Kings, the support is the poorest. So if other positions have even lower gold than the support, the game is basically lost. However, precisely because of low gold, supports often lack sufficient equipment to sustain themselves in the mid-game. Many times, just as they start to build defense, they get burst down by the enemy mage's combo. So, is there a way to make the support tankier in the early to mid game, so they don't get vaporized upon entering a fight? That's the topic we're going to discuss today.

Generally, the first two items for supports are fixed. Whether it's a soft support or a tank support, the first item is always a roaming support item—specifically, either Star Spring or Redemption, depending on the lineup and personal preference. The second item is boots to increase movement speed for map roaming and support. Only when it comes to the third item do they start building other items based on their needs.

And because the support's gold income is low, by the time they finish the first two items, it's almost ten minutes into the game. At this point, both sides are already engaging in frequent small-scale team fights. The support also has to take on the task of scouting for vision. If they step even slightly forward, they'll be hit by various focused damage. It can be said that at this time, both physical and magical resistance are urgently needed equipment.
There are quite a few items that provide both physical and magical resistance. For example, the Crimson Cloak gives 150 physical defense and 150 magical defense; the Raging Dragon Sword Shield and Overlord's Heavy Armor also provide physical and magical resistance, though mostly physical resistance. But as mentioned earlier, the biggest characteristic of supports is being poor. Items like Crimson Cloak cost over 2000 gold, which supports simply cannot afford in a short time, so it's not realistic.

After reviewing all items, Xiaodi found that the Heaven-Earth Stone has very good stats, offering extremely high cost-effectiveness for early-game transition. This item is a component for building Sage's Protection. Its stats are 150 physical defense + 150 magical defense, same as Crimson Cloak, but without health bonus or passive effect. However, it only costs 800 gold. For a gold-starved position like support, 300 dual resistance in the early to mid game provides immense value. The cost-effectiveness speaks for itself.
Of course, many players worry about slot efficiency. However, supports rarely have this problem. In most games, supports can hardly achieve six full items unless the game drags on to the late stage after the Storm Dragon King appears at 20 minutes. So in the vast majority of matches, they can build normally until the game ends.

Moreover, as mentioned earlier, the Heaven-Earth Stone is a component of Sage's Protection, so it can be directly upgraded into Sage's Protection. In the late game, having a revive item is very important, so it's fully usable. This way, the 800 gold spent in the early game is never wasted: it serves as a dual resistance small item early on and becomes a revive armor later. After using both revives, you can sell it and replace with another item, and you won't lose much. However, this scenario is very rare since most games don't last that long. Xiaodi also plays support often and has been using this build for a long time. The improvement in survival rate during mid-game engagements is very noticeable. You can try it too.

That's all for the content. If you think it's good, feel free to give a like to support. If you have anything to say, ask, or want to see, leave a comment below—I'll read them all~
