Overly complex effects are very noticeable and can easily reveal your position. In many high-level games, the flashier the charging effect, the more likely you are to be focused. That's why many Hou Yi players like to use the Brave skin Perfect Calculation, because its ultimate has a light blue effect that is very inconspicuous and hard to dodge. The Shadow Gun is similar; its second skill charge doesn't easily reveal your position, which is crucial for sniper-style Shouyue players.

As for the new skin Night Patrol, first of all, its appearance is indeed impressive. Golden wolf-tail long hair with dark orange highlights, a fitted uniform with metal shoulder armor, a falcon always by the side, and the gun body has a stained glass texture. Overall, it has high recognition and looks great on the main page.

As for the effects, they follow a clean style. Basic attacks: golden bullets explode with dark shards upon hit. Second skill: a golden circle appears when aiming, and firing comes with a stained glass shattering effect. Ultimate: a backward jump with a shot, ending cleanly. So it's not too complicated. The gold color scheme is not too flashy in team fights. Compared to Agent Phantom's purple effects that block vision, or Snow Leopard Frost Claw's floaty feel, Night Patrol's feedback feels solid, making it easy to use.

Another point: Baili Shouyue is a relatively old hero. His popularity is not too low but not too high either. He seems to have a fair number of skins, but all five are epic skins. The only legendary skin, Fragmented Cloud, is a direct purchase, available anytime, so there's no rarity. Moreover, its effects and anchor points have been criticized. Night Patrol is Baili Shouyue's first legendary limited skin, directly filling that gap. Even just for the novelty, players will use it for a while. Whether to switch back later remains to be seen.
