VCTCN: nephh’s top-tier performance remains as steady as an anchor, BLG defeats EDG 3-1 to reach the finals

In the 2025 VCTCN Stage 2 playoffs losers’ final, BLG overcame EDG 3-1 to secure a spot in the final!

In the first half, EDG took the pistol round. BLG’s map control attempts in the first three rounds were ineffective. In round 4, BLG flanked A to find a breakthrough and scored the first point. BLG then won two consecutive rounds. In round 6, BLG started aggressively but rushia was first killed. Lacking main smokes for site entry, BLG was swiftly countered by EDG’s fast retake, resulting in a comeback round for EDG. EDG then took three straight rounds, but in round 9 nephh’s outstanding play ended EDG’s winning streak. BLG closed the first half with a four-round winning streak, tying the score at 6-6.

In the second half, EDG won the pistol round but was soon overturned by BLG. In round 17, EDG successfully executed B site and took two guns from BLG. EDG gained two more rounds. In round 19, EDG controlled B site with nephh holding B second floor. EDG’s teleport rotation was caught by Levius, who secured the round. BLG prevented EDG from expanding the lead, tying the score 10-10. In round 21, EDG attacked A; after Kangkang held the site, they stopped BLG’s retake and won the round. In round 23, BLG defended the bathroom forcing EDG to retreat and rotate; nephh held B site during BLG’s retake to win the round. In round 24, EDG accelerated their attack on A, and QiuQiu eliminated nephh in the clutch, pushing the match to overtime.

In overtime, EDG defended. nobody held B short and took out two enemies, followed by QiuQiu securing three kills inside the site to win the defense round. Switching to offense, EDG won the gunfight at B site and secured the spike plant. In the final moments, QiuQiu won another clutch, leading EDG to a 14-12 victory in Image 1.

Offense side BLG: Omen, Sova, Brimstone, Neon, Zero

In the first half, EDG won the pistol round. BLG took the bonus round and followed with a three-round winning streak. QiuQiu saved guns in two consecutive rounds. In round 6, EDG reached long guns again. BLG quickly rushed C site, established control, and eliminated EDG during their retake to win the round. In round 8, EDG regained long guns, with Smoggy securing the first kill at B and defending A site with teammates to win the round. BLG regained momentum with a four-round winning streak, leading 9-3 at half-time.

In the second half, BLG won the pistol round. In round 15, EDG’s bonus round succeeded on A site. Round 16 saw a long gun fight where EDG coordinated skills to take A site. nobody’s Sova ultimate eliminated two enemies, allowing EDG to hold the site. EDG then scored five consecutive rounds. In round 20, EDG rushed B to plant the spike, but BLG’s defense forced them out and successfully defused, earning match point. In round 21, BLG defended A site with rushia’s triple kill leading the team to victory in Image 2.

In the first half, BLG won the pistol round and scored four consecutive rounds. In round 5, Jieni7 pulled off a 1v4 ACE at A site leading the team to the first point. In round 8, EDG rushed C site, breaking BLG’s defense and retake, scoring their second point. In round 10, EDG made some small mistakes on offense; XiaoK got a triple kill at A site and finished with a quad kill at C site after eliminating EDG’s last player. In round 12, Jieni7 again performed an ACE, leading BLG to the fourth point. BLG dominated defense in the first half, building a lead, while EDG relied on Jieni7’s ACEs to score four points. The half ended 8-4 in favor of BLG.

In the second half, BLG won the pistol round and reached 10 points first. EDG recovered one point in the bonus round. In round 16, during a long gun fight, BLG found an opportunity through B site and executed a pincer attack on A site to win. In round 17, EDG’s saved guns defended C site to complete a comeback. EDG scored two consecutive rounds. In round 19, XiaoK delayed time with a “Qin King circling the pillar” tactic at C site in the clutch. Kangkang eliminated XiaoK, but there was not enough time to defuse, giving BLG match point. EDG then scored three consecutive rounds to reach match point. In round 23, BLG mixed up their attack; successfully planting the spike at C site. In the clutch, nephh eliminated Smoggy, securing the win for BLG in Image 3.

Defense side BLG: Sova, Sova, K/O, Neon, Kilo

Offense side EDG: Zero, Jet, K/O, Sova, Omen

In the first half, EDG won the pistol round. In round 4, EDG quickly rushed B site to take their third point. In round 5, BLG and EDG clashed at B site, trading kills. XiaoK’s Sova used Shock Darts and ultimate to eliminate the spike carrier, securing BLG’s second point. Neither side managed to pull away; EDG’s fast rushes weren’t always effective. Instead, BLG went on a three-round winning streak to take the lead. In the last round of the half, both teams fiercely contested A site. Quick resupplies and support were key, with Smoggy’s triple kill with the Sentinel tying the score at 6-6.

In the second half, EDG won the pistol round. In round 14, BLG eliminated two EDG players, secured gun control, and successfully retook B site for a comeback. After losing the pistol round in the second half, BLG went on a seven-round winning streak to clinch the victory in Image 4.
