The grand finale of the LPL has concluded, with TheShy raising his arms in triumph as IG ascends to the league's top contender, and WEI achieves a satisfying revenge.

Greetings to all LPL viewers and League of Legends summoners, welcome to Tianxia Game Report.

The final showdown of the LPL Peak Group between BLG and IG saw IG winning the first game. In the second game, BLG chose a lineup with a low tolerance for mistakes, initially taking the lead but IG reversed the situation with a single team fight.

WEI’s early game tactics and rhythm were excellent, playing a key role in securing a satisfying revenge, while IG also took over the league’s top contender position.

WEI’s opening strategy gives IG the initiative.

In the second game’s ban-pick phase, BLG on the blue side selected a rather unusual and low-damage lineup: Galio mid, Sion top, and a bottom lane featuring Varus running a poke composition. This lineup needs to establish a lead by mid-game, as it struggles in the late game.

IG responded with a strong combo, picking Mordekaiser top and pairing it with Orianna and Sivir as double carries, while the jungle and support offer multiple engage options. Their damage output was more diverse compared to BLG, with Mordekaiser’s performance being the key factor.

At the start, IG executed a vision control tactic by invading the jungle, which paid off as WEI successfully flanked and ganked the bottom lane, predicting Elk’s flash location perfectly and securing first blood with his impressive Q-flash maneuver.

Following that, jungler Shadow set the pace by initiating mid lane, allowing Rookie to secure a kill, though Shadow was traded out in the process.

Later, BLG targeted Rookie again, with two players ganking mid to get a kill. At 6 minutes, Galio roamed first to top, coordinating with the swapped bottom lane to pressure The Shy, who was left low on health. Shadow then dove the tower to kill The Shy, gaining the upper hand in the fight. At 7 minutes, WEI pushed aggressively, diving the top tower with teammates to kill two enemies and escaping with low health.

Knight scores two solo kills, shifting the momentum repeatedly.

At 12 minutes, BLG grouped to contest the dragon, but IG approached to scout vision. WEI was caught by Karma’s root and Varus’s ultimate combo, leading to his death. The Shy used TP to respond on Zhao Xin but couldn’t secure a kill. BLG quickly followed up by killing the support, turning the fight into a 2-for-0 exchange. Soon after, IG received bad news as Knight found an opportunity to solo kill The Shy at top lane.

At 15 minutes, a team fight broke out in the jungle. IG’s jungle and support initiated, Rookie landed a massive ultimate on Elk to secure a kill. The teams then traded blows, with Knight and Galio’s resilience enabling a counterattack that netted another kill.

At 17 minutes, IG attempted a tower dive to kill Galio but Knight escaped successfully. WEI continued chasing but was counterattacked by Galio and left nearly dead. Knight then flashed to dodge WEI’s crowd control and secured a solo kill. By this point, Knight had two solo kills. At 18 minutes, The Shy was trapped on the side lane, used his ultimate but failed to save teammates and was killed.

At 21 minutes, the situation flipped again during a fierce contest over the Rift Herald. BLG pushed forward but was ambushed by WEI’s vision trap combined with Orianna’s ultimate, dealing massive AoE damage. Niko’s ultimate followed, quickly killing Zhao Xin, and the team chased down the enemies for a clean 5-for-0 team wipe.

At 22 minutes, BLG forced a fight at the dragon pit, with GALA securing a kill and the final blow, gaining the Dragon Soul’s advantage.

GALA achieves a double quadra kill, and The Shy raises his arms in celebration.

At 29 minutes, during the dragon soul team fight, IG started the dragon first. The Shy flashed in to lock down Zhao Xin, helping his team secure the dragon. The ensuing fight saw Orianna dealing massive damage and scoring a quadra kill. After this fight, the match was essentially decided, barring a major mistake from IG, as BLG’s lineup had no comeback potential left.

At 31 minutes, IG secured Baron buff and pushed forward. WEI made a positioning error, being caught and killed. BLG managed to finish off Orianna in a team fight, and GALA’s Guardian Angel was also triggered.

At 33 minutes, a dramatic sequence unfolded. BLG seized the initiative with Orianna and Galio coordinating a kill. WEI was caught again, and IG’s attempt to save him failed as GALA flashed into a wall. WEI died, The Shy entered with his ultimate to kill Elk but was then taken down. Meanwhile, GALA aggressively rushed the dragon, Niko tried to stall, and Shadow arrived late without Smite, causing BLG to lose the opportunity to secure the Dragon Soul, leaving them still at a disadvantage.

At 36 minutes, BLG initiated a fight mid lane, with Sion charging into Orianna’s shield. In the ensuing team fight, IG counterattacked, causing BLG to collapse. GALA secured another quadra kill and attempted a final push. On held the lane to wait for teammates to respawn, but BLG’s desperate defense was broken when The Shy landed a decisive ultimate, targeting the base with no one able to stop him, ending the game. Afterwards, The Shy raised his arms and laughed uncontrollably.

In my opinion, this final match served as a perfect conclusion to this season’s revenge story. Since leaving BLG, WEI has achieved a double kill against his former team, fulfilling a satisfying revenge. He played a crucial role in both games — initiating decisive fights in the first game and orchestrating early ganks in the second. Despite some mistakes, his overall performance was excellent and truly commendable.
