Since IG "took in" the jungler WEI, many BLG fans have been harassing IG. Whenever IG loses a match, numerous BLG fans urge IG’s management to replace their jungler, and some even hope BLG can teach WEI a lesson during the regular season. However, after the two BO3 series between IG and BLG ended, IG led WEI to successfully avenge against BLG, making it clear to all LPL viewers that WEI is not the so-called "reborn jungler" as BLG fans claimed, but the MSI double champion jungler. (BLG’s combined four players’ honors don’t even match WEI’s)
Besides jungler WEI’s outstanding performance during the matches, the biggest contributor to the BO3 victory was top laner TheShy. In this BO3, TheShy transformed into a "damage king." Despite being heavily targeted in the first game, he finished with a losing record but dealt the highest damage in the match. TheShy’s second game as Mordekaiser was even more impactful, consistently isolating the enemy carries or restricting the opposing jungler’s movements during team fights, and ultimately destroying BLG’s Nexus right in front of ELK. (The hilarious post-match picture of TheShy also sparked widespread discussion online)
After TheShy’s extreme base destruction, BLG’s AD carry ELK was also publicly embarrassed by the LPL officials. During the post-match replay segment, the LPL broadcast showed individual perspectives of ELK and TheShy. From the footage, ELK playing Varus failed to land a single skill on TheShy during TheShy’s ultimate, which allowed TheShy to safely destroy the base. Had ELK landed at least one Q during the ultimate, the outcome might have been very different.
After BLG’s loss, the entire BLG team accepted media interviews. In the interview, BLG’s coach expressed dissatisfaction with the BO3 result, believing IG’s victory was due to luck and some early-game tactics. The coach frankly stated that if BLG meets IG again in the playoffs, they will teach IG a lesson to show BLG’s true strength. (It must be said, BLG’s players and coach love to talk big. Do you think BLG can successfully avenge against IG in the playoffs?)
Although IG’s victory pleased many fans, some IG fans’ behavior off-stage embarrassed many others. Before the IG vs. BLG match started, a self-proclaimed IG fan posted a video claiming to have disrupted BIN’s mindset before the game. According to the video, this fan went to the venue holding a sign to "cheer on" the players, but the sign actually contained personal insults directed at BIN. This face-to-face provocation upset many BLG fans, who called on the officials to take serious action.
After this incident surfaced, many IG fans distanced themselves from this "self-proclaimed" IG fan, calling him a troublemaker. However, some IG fans supported him, arguing that BLG fans’ previous behavior was even more outrageous. When BLG lost, fans of the other four BLG players often targeted jungler WEI alone, and some extreme fans even went up to WEI to mock him as the "reborn jungler." (Some extreme fans are really scary)
Personally, I really don’t understand why BLG players and fans dislike WEI. Honestly, WEI’s individual skills and team leadership are impressive. Since WEI joined IG, IG’s early game operations and teamfight strategies have improved significantly. What do you think is the reason BLG abandoned jungler WEI? After WEI joined IG, do you think IG can win a league championship or even a world championship?
