A desperate scene unfolded in the LPL, TheShy's masterful play went viral, sneaking to the base with laughter, leaving BLG defenseless.

Greetings to all LPL viewers and League of Legends summoners, welcome to Tianxia Game Report.

Yesterday marked the conclusion of the LPL's third stage with the rescheduled first-round game between IG and BLG, delayed earlier by a typhoon, where IG cleanly won 2-0.

This match also produced a new iconic moment, as The Shy's tank Malphite play perfectly capped off the LPL's third stage.

The game was full of twists and turns, with different heroes taking the spotlight.

In the second game of this round, The Shy picked top lane Malphite, which is not considered a meta-strong champion. The commentators analyzed The Shy's Malphite role and mentioned the recent popular Malphite build focusing on Titanic Hydra and Randuin's Omen, emphasizing strong ultimate duel potential.

Indeed, in this game, The Shy opted for the Titanic Hydra build on Malphite.

The match's progress was full of ups and downs. Initially, The Shy was more of a supporting figure; early on, WEI executed a clever jungle invade and secured first blood with a prediction, followed by an extreme tower dive that helped IG extend their lead. In the mid-game, Knight took center stage.

Knight's Galio solo killed The Shy, then escaped a surround on the top lane by WEI to score a second solo kill, helping BLG to turn the tide. However, IG fought back with a brilliant teamfight despite being at a disadvantage, with GALA's Rell securing a quadra kill, achieving two quads in the match.

Moreover, in BLG's dragon soul teamfight, Shadow rushed the dragon alone, but without Smite, he helplessly watched the dragon slip away.

A desperate moment in the LPL, The Shy's divine play ignited excitement.

After numerous teamfights, BLG initiated a bold engage mid-lane, but it was reckless; Bin's ultimate clashed against Rell's shield, allowing IG to calmly counterattack, with GALA cleaning up kills and attempting to end the game. At this moment, On's Karma chose to disconnect, seeking a defensive advantage.

This disconnection partially worked; after respawning, BLG defended fiercely and nearly secured the kill on Rell, seemingly about to hold. Then came the desperate scene: The Shy activated his ultimate, locked onto the target, and executed a 5-hit combo that destroyed the base. Because the ultimate forcibly locks onto one target, BLG had no way to defend.

At this moment, The Shy's Titanic Hydra build proved effective, granting rapid attack speed and an ultimate duration long enough to finish off the base.

The Shy became the final star of the match; as he was about to destroy the base, he raised his arms in a rare celebration. After the game, he couldn't stop smiling, and even the usually reserved GALA was visibly delighted.

BLG became the most despairing team, helplessly watching The Shy take down their base, then suffering a seasonal double kill from WEI, cementing their position as one of the biggest losers.

IG shows significant improvement, playoff rivalries continue.

Many years ago, The Shy was seen laughing uncontrollably during All-Star events. Over time, fans rarely see him laugh like that anymore. It seems that the most joyful part of the game remains base sneaking, which allowed The Shy to rediscover the fun of the game.

Editor’s note

After winning this game, IG successfully surpassed BLG to claim second place in the league, finishing the third stage regular season with an impressive six-game winning streak, showing unstoppable momentum.

In my opinion, IG has made tremendous progress during this six-game streak, especially in stabilizing player form. Though decision-making errors still occur, the improvement compared to the first and second stages is clear. IG has arguably reached their peak form of the S15 season and could perform even better in the playoffs.

Editor’s note

Looking ahead, the LPL will feature the Knights' Road and playoff matches. IG and BLG remain in the same half of the bracket; if both teams advance past the first round, they will face each other again in the second round. Fans can then see which of these rival teams will ultimately prevail.
