IG's journey in the S15 World Championship has ended, and their official account exploded with reactions! Fans angrily criticized TheShy: No sense of shame.

IG lost 1-3 to T1 in the S15 World Championship play-in stage, leading to their exit. This result soon caused a lot of debate.

First, the IG official account was bombarded with complaints, with most criticism directed at top laner TheShy. Numerous fans angrily shouted: What’s the point of choosing Varus top in the final game? Do they have any shame? Some fans bluntly said: There was clearly a chance to win, but ending up like this is the saddest part — they simply don’t deserve to win!

Then LPL official commentators Miller, Guan Zeyuan, and Rita also discussed the reasons behind IG’s defeat. They believed that IG sometimes made mistakes in many decisions during high-level clashes, while T1’s decisions were consistent. T1 only had minor individual errors, like mechanical mistakes, but their team decisions were very composed. This BO5 was more intense than expected, making the loss even more regrettable. If IG had played T1 with their playoff bubble match form, they wouldn’t have had a chance. But IG’s initial performance gave us hope. The momentum of the team winning the first game was definitely stronger, which was a bit unfortunate.

Other LPL official commentators like Tongxi also expressed: IG repeatedly let opportunities slip away. Commentator Shuoshuo frankly said: There is a gap in raw strength.

In fact, watching this BO5, IG did have chances because T1’s form wasn’t perfect either, with several players making basic mistakes. However, as the series progressed, T1 became steadier, while some IG players seemed confused. Especially top laner TheShy, who was arguably the biggest factor in IG’s defeat in this BO5. His performances—excavator in game one, Rumble in game three, and Varus in game four—were all detrimental. TheShy’s skill has declined significantly compared to his peak. This BO5 could have been played with a tank top laner since Rookie and Gala were both in good form, but unfortunately, they failed to create a better damage environment for the two carries and didn’t make an impact.

Additionally, Wei made quite a few mistakes. In game three, there was a moment when a comeback seemed possible as Gala’s Sion was well farmed and dealing damage, but Wei’s error cost them the Baron, causing the comeback attempt to fail. Overall, his performance lagged far behind Oner’s.

Of course, the gap in team coordination and shot-calling was even bigger. Simply put, IG was outmatched and lacked sufficient strength. This IG roster was built with huge investments during the transfer window, but the current results are clearly unsatisfactory. It’s highly likely this roster won’t stay intact next year. We can only hope that if these players continue competing next year, wherever they are, they will keep working hard!
