S15 Swiss Round: 369 the Aatrox stands unyielding, TES defeats G2 to secure a strong start

In the opening round of the 2025 LoL World Championship Swiss stage, TES defeated G2 to claim the first win and lead their Swiss group 1-0.

G2’s roster included Sion, Xin Zhao, Azir, Xayah, and Rakan.

TES fielded Aatrox, Trundle, Orianna, Yuumi, and Karma.

Early in the game, G2’s bot lane swapped lanes, but TES kept targeting and killing G2’s top and jungle repeatedly in the bottom lane. TES secured all Rift Scuttlers and Dragons. G2’s formation was fragmented early, struggling with resource swaps and tower dives, while TES effectively punished G2’s solo laner Sion with continuous kills, breaking through that lane.

At 15 minutes, G2’s top laner dove under tower to kill TES’s Orianna, but TES’s other four players grouped on the top side. Yuumi’s tanky frontline baited G2’s team, allowing TES to win the teamfight decisively. By 20 minutes, TES took Elder Dragon, with 369’s Aatrox transforming into a battle god, single-handedly holding off five enemies in the bottom lane. After securing Elder Dragon, TES assisted 369 in killing three G2 members.

At 26 minutes, a mid-lane teamfight saw Kanavi’s Trundle clean up with a triple kill, leading TES to secure Baron Nashor. With the Baron buff, TES pushed down G2’s mid and bottom lane inhibitors. At 30 minutes, in a top lane fight, TES traded two for three kills and destroyed G2’s final inhibitor. With all three lanes breached, G2 had no chance to come back, and TES won the game by pushing straight through the base at 32 minutes.
