During the second round of the 2025 LoL World Championship Swiss Stage 1-0 group, AL triumphed over GEN for their second straight win.
GEN lineup: Qiyana, Xin Zhao, Ryze, Kai’Sa, Alistar
AL lineup: Rek’Sai, Qiyana, Taliyah, Corki, Poppy
At the start, AL’s mid-jungle duo coordinated to kill Chovy’s Ryze. Despite Tarzan being substituted, the double buffs transferred to Shanks, allowing his Taliyah to consistently push lanes during the laning phase. At 7 minutes, in the top lane, GEN’s duo initiated a fight, both teams focusing damage on supports; Duro’s Alistar couldn’t withstand and was slain by Hope. Mid lane saw direct skirmishes, with AL winning the team fight 1 for 2. AL secured two dragons and accelerated their pace in the mid game. When the third dragon respawned, AL took it but lost the ensuing team fight. Kiin’s Qiyana maneuvered skillfully in the fight, and Ruler’s Kai’Sa scored a triple kill, helping GEN win the fight and boost their dual carry’s growth.
At 22 minutes, GEN quickly rushed Baron Nashor, followed by a dragon team fight. Ruler’s Kai’Sa dive was blocked by Kael’s Poppy steadfastly, allowing AL to win the fight, claim the Cloud Soul, and secure Baron. AL pressed the advantage, killing GEN’s jungle and support in their jungle, but failed to break high ground. At 30 minutes, AL used Taliyah’s wall to trap GEN and successfully rushed the Elder Dragon. After a 1-for-3 exchange, AL chose to push mid and closed out the game in one decisive push.
