The truth behind T1's championship revealed: Faker is irreplaceable, GUMA’s ambitions exposed, and the system outweighs everything.

Hello to all LPL viewers and League of Legends summoners, this is Tianxia Game Report.

After the off-season, T1 once again secured the K Cup championship with a refreshed lineup. Despite the tournament’s relatively low prestige, it still demonstrated the formidable power of the T1 squad to the audience.

Even when repeatedly facing perilous moments, T1 skillfully navigated through and ended up as the winner.

Peyz performed heroically, completely outclassing Gumayusi in lane.

In my opinion, the most notable topic of this K Cup was T1’s near-seamless integration of Peyz after acquiring him, producing excellent results. Throughout the K Cup matches, Peyz consistently delivered outstanding performances, while the team’s core player Faker struggled to find his form.

In the final match, Peyz utterly dominated Gumayusi in their matchup. It’s no exaggeration to say Peyz’s performance far surpassed Gumayusi’s. Statistically, Gumayusi died 31 times over five games with a KDA of 20-31-30, whereas Peyz posted 36-15-42, showing a significant difference.

It’s important to note that before this transfer period, Gumayusi was the Finals MVP, while Peyz hadn’t even qualified for Worlds and didn’t stand out much individually on JDG in the LPL.

However, after the transfer window closed, their situations reversed dramatically.

This inevitably prompts a reevaluation of T1’s success formula: what exactly enables them to win so many championships? Last year Zeus left, yet T1 still won titles. This year Gumayusi departed, and T1 quickly secured another championship.

The truth behind T1’s championships: the system is above all else.

Following Gumayusi’s departure, T1 appears largely unaffected. While T2 might face challenges next year, current evidence clearly shows that except for Faker, who is irreplaceable, other players on T1 can seemingly be substituted without much impact.

Of course, T1’s replacements are always highly skilled or possess great potential.

Actually, T1 winning a championship with Doran already made many fans realize the true strength of this team lies in its solid foundation and system. During their three consecutive world titles, T1 discovered the winning formula for Worlds, repeatedly proving effective. Over the past four years, they have consistently exploded at Worlds and demonstrated championship caliber.

Even if one or two players change, T1’s overall system and operations remain stable. Doran, who many doubted could become a top-tier top laner, joined T1 and won a championship.

Peyz is fundamentally a very talented player, though not yet the absolute core. Within T1, however, this level of ability is more than sufficient.

Gumayusi’s ambitions revealed, analysis of T1 players’ evaluations.

Notably, Gumayusi’s recent interview sparked controversy. He stated that if his goal is to become the best player in the world, he realized he can’t stay at T1 forever. He clarified this doesn’t mean there’s any issue with T1; rather, he feels it’s time to build his own career path.

The controversy arises because despite having three championships, Gumayusi’s ambition to surpass Faker is unrealistic. Moreover, in a previous interview, he said the best players are at T1, which seems somewhat contradictory.

I believe Gumayusi’s ambition is understandable, but after leaving T1, he might realize how much the team’s system boosts a player’s strength. Without the system’s support, Gumayusi might not be as strong as when he was at T1.

This is one reason why, despite T1’s three consecutive championships, Faker’s teammates historically receive relatively low recognition. The system matters greatly; players departing T1 often struggle to gain acknowledgment unless they prove themselves with a world championship, remaining overshadowed by Faker.
