Two star mid laners explode in LPL! Rookie returns to form, IG ends losing streak, BLG wins the battle for the top spot

Greetings to all LPL fans and League of Legends summoners, welcome to Tianxia Game Hub.

Yesterday, the LPL featured two crucial matches in the Peak Group, notably the top battle between BLG and AL, with BLG overturning a deficit to secure a 2-1 victory. Meanwhile, the Demacia Cup champions snapped their losing streak by beating JDG.

Both matches saw outstanding performances from two mid laners, Knight and Rookie, who delivered MVP-level plays using the same champions.

LPL’s two star mid laners shine as BLG claims the top match

The first match yesterday was between BLG and AL. Both teams had secured their first wins previously and were considered the strongest in the Peak Group. The winner would claim the top spot. BLG, after losing the first game, made a comeback to win 2-1, showing improved form compared to their previous match.

In this match, BLG abandoned their previous strategy of dragging the game late and switched to a more aggressive playstyle. The first game featured a classic Left Handed Faker Azir and a jungler picked as Jayce. Left Handed Faker’s Azir seemed slightly underwhelming, but a surprising two-tower flank caught the audience off guard. Tarzan’s Jayce dominated the game, securing the first win for BLG.

After losing the first game, Knight exploded with his mid lane Syndra, achieving an incredible 12-0 scoreline. Despite a rough start, he first roamed to the bot lane to gain advantage, then capitalized on Hope’s mistake in the dragon fight to secure kills. AL’s impatience in their disadvantage led to a forced mid fight where Knight scored a quadra kill, ending the game decisively as Knight turned the match into his personal showcase.

In the final deciding game, Bin showed strong laning, and BLG continuously pressured the top side to gain the upper hand. Knight’s Ryze output was maximized in teamfights. Despite AL’s desperate counterattack during a major teamfight, Xun’s Qiyana ultimate caught five enemies and sealed the victory.

Rookie returns to form, IG avoids a three-game losing streak

Next was the match between IG and JDG. IG had suffered two consecutive losses to WBG and AL, making it critical to win against JDG. Otherwise, they risked facing a situation similar to TES in the first round.

It is worth noting that these two teams previously met in the Demacia Cup final, where IG took the championship. Over the past two years, IG has had a strong record against JDG, consistently winning, and this match was no exception.

In the first game, Rookie repeatedly picked his signature champions. He chose Syndra, dominating the game and playing a key role in teamfights to help his team secure the first win.

In the second game, Rookie picked LeBlanc. Although the top lane showed impressive escape plays, JDG’s double carry performed better. HongQ’s Orianna combined with GALA’s Rell dominated teamfights, pushing the match to a deciding third game.

In the final game, both teams were evenly matched early and mid-game, but during a crucial dragon fight, JDG’s formation collapsed. Rookie seized the chance to single out and eliminate GALA. IG then launched a strong follow-up, killing multiple enemies to build an advantage. JDG’s risky Baron attempt backfired, and Photic’s relentless damage output secured a quadra kill to end the game.

BLG leads in lineup strength; Peak Group ranks tighten

After these two matches, the MVPs of the day were both mid laners, Knight and Rookie, who were the stars of yesterday’s games. Of course, teammates’ contributions should not be overlooked. Bin had significant lane advantages in all three games against Saint, and his form revival is crucial for BLG.

IG also minimized errors, with strong performances from support Jwei and Photic’s impressive quadra kill standing out.

In my opinion, following these two matches, the first-round rankings in the LPL Peak Group are becoming clearer. Two teams stand out as top-tier: BLG and TES. After BLG’s win, they seem unlikely to lose upcoming games. It’s clear that Daeny is experimenting with different strategies and hero pools for BLG. Daeny’s style has always been like this, so while there is a chance of setbacks, once fully synchronized, BLG is very likely unbeatable.

TES, on the other hand, appears to be the weakest in the Peak Group. Their bottom lane duo lacks strength and does not look like typical Peak Group players.

Among the other four teams, AL has a slight edge in raw power but faces challenges in this meta. WBG, JDG, and IG are roughly equal in strength, with any of them capable of winning or losing. They still need further synergy development to reach their potential.
