Since the start of the new League of Legends season, the Korean server has served as the primary arena for numerous streamers and professional players adjusting to the latest version. For the first half of the month, with two major regions about to begin their competitions, most players participated in practice matches and only occasionally engaged in ranked games. The overall level of high-tier Korean ranked play was lower than anticipated, enabling some random players and pros to rapidly reach the top with outstanding win rates.

One player with the ID “택배기사#한 진” caught the attention of many viewers by reaching the top of the Korean server in less than a week with a staggering 92% win rate. Due to his flashy and precise gameplay, many suspected this was Elon Musk testing his AI. This sparked the Korean server AI mid laner controversy, during which a Korean insider revealed that the account actually belongs to BRO’s new mid laner.

However, supporters of the "AI theory" pointed to live gameplay recordings from the account (some moves resembling scripts) to question the account ownership. This led to heated debates between believers and skeptics of the AI claim. As the discussion began to fade, Riot’s official designer released a video confirming the account user, matching Korean reports that the account indeed belongs to BRO’s mid laner Roamer.

In an interview with the design team, Roamer introduced himself using the same ID as the previously rumored AI account. Riot’s official statement included player feedback describing his delicate mechanics as "AI-like." This settled the debate, and Roamer admitted in the interview that achieving a 92% win rate and topping the Korean server was simply a matter of good luck.

Actually, this topic was settled long ago, but some players still insisted it was AI. Early Korean reports showed that the account’s summoner skills and item preferences matched Roamer’s exactly. Most importantly, the ID suffix contained BRO’s sponsor name—a Korean company. If it were truly Musk’s AI, why would it carry the name of a Korean sponsor?

Moreover, Elon Musk is known for being very outspoken. Last year, he openly declared plans to use AI to challenge the world champion team T1 by 2026. If this were his AI account, he would likely have tweeted about it multiple times by now. Despite the rumors spreading widely online, Musk never responded, so this matter lost suspense long ago. It’s just some cloud players unwilling to accept Roamer as the account owner.

Roamer’s performance in official matches differs significantly from his ranked play. BRO played two matches in the first week against DK and BFX, losing both. Against DK, Roamer was solo killed in lane by Xu Ge, and DK swept the series 2-0 with Xu Ge as the MVP. In the BFX match, Roamer also failed to shine and was outperformed by Vicla, who earned MVP honors. These two games highlighted that the mid lane was one of BRO’s weak points.

Many people, after seeing Roamer’s pro match performance, stubbornly claimed that the ranked gameplay videos were not by the same person. Some even said: even if it’s not AI, it can’t be Roamer. Now, they should be proven wrong. As always, if ranked results truly mattered, Tangyuan would have dominated the LPL by now. It’s common for players to perform well in ranked but underperform in official matches.

With Riot’s official designer confirming the facts, this AI drama is officially over. Excelling in ranked does not guarantee good performance in tournaments, a fact proven countless times. Tangyuan once topped the Korean server, but everyone knows how he played in matches. TT’s "Little Yellow" also reached the top before disappearing without a trace. So, don’t hype unrealistically; it only leads to embarrassment.
