VCTCN: Rarga’s righteous quad kill instantly eliminates opponents, XLG defeats WOL 2-0

In the 2026 VCTCN Starting Cup Winners' Bracket Round 2, XLG overcame WOL 2-0 to secure a spot in the Winners' Bracket semifinals.

In the first half, Rarga led with a four-kill pistol round. In round 3 at site B, jowa used a smoke from a separated position to find space, securing a triple kill and the bonus round. Both teams focused differently on mid control; WOL emphasized mid control to retake defense during the bonus rounds, scoring three consecutive points. XLG called a timeout in round 6 to adjust their attack rhythm, then used a slow approach combined with a pincer move. In round 11, XLG executed a full rush on A site; WOL’s qiutiaN tried to flank with ultimate but failed, resulting in WOL losing the point. After adjustments, XLG regained control of the attack pace and scored eight points, while WOL managed only four in the first half.

In the second half, WsLeo performed exceptionally, with Justice instantly securing a triple kill. Then Rarga and happywei teamed up to eliminate the entire WOL squad, giving XLG the pistol round win. In round 15’s bonus, happywei threw a smoke and aggressively took down two opponents, forcing WOL to abandon their attack and save weapons. XLG then scored five straight points in the second half, winning Breeze Island decisively 13-4.

In the first half pistol round, happywei clutched a 1v2, while Qinwang flanked and secured a triple kill. In round 5, happywei and Xinglu used ultimates to attempt A site, but NoMan was eliminated, and the other four XLG players couldn’t break through as yosemite aggressively secured a triple kill. In round 6, XLG sped up at A site with WsLeo holding the second floor. WOL’s defense held strong, preventing XLG from pulling out. XLG then won four consecutive rounds. After adjustments, WOL’s yosemite defended A site with an ACE in round 10, narrowing the gap by two points. In round 12, Lysoar used Youying’s mobility to outmaneuver WOL. The first half ended with XLG leading 7-5 over WOL.

In the second half, Rarga’s Justice quad kill led XLG to win the pistol round. In round 16, Rarga secured a triple kill on a flank to hold off WOL’s attack. In round 18, jowa eliminated Rarga’s Mingju, prompting WOL to try controlling mid and rotate to B, but NoMan scored a double kill mid, denying WOL any pincer opportunities. At match point, XLG shifted tactics to focus mid control, trapping WOL in a pincer at A site and winning 13-6 on Shadowy Grotto.
