Greetings to all LPL fans and League of Legends summoners, this is Tianxia Game Report.
Yesterday, the LPL conducted the last two games of the first round in the Peak Group, where AL comfortably beat TES, but the JDG versus WBG match ended unexpectedly with the underperforming WBG sweeping JDG 2-0.

This has thrown the Peak Group standings into disarray, and with no undefeated team left, BLG has once again taken the lead.
Xiaohu's rage erupts, JDG's mid laner faces punishment
Before the JDG match began, JDG had just impressively swept a four-win streak BLG, ending their run. JDG had the chance to top the first round if they could beat WBG, but unexpectedly, after beating BLG, JDG stumbled and lost to the previously underperforming WBG.

It’s worth noting that WBG had been criticized for poor performances in several roles, especially mid laner Xiaohu, who had become one of the biggest laughingstocks in the LPL due to outrageous and comedic plays. Jiejie was accused of only farming jungle without ganking, and support Erha also underperformed.
However, in this match, an enraged Xiaohu exploded with intensity. His pre-game gaze was fierce, looking more like General Tiger than a comedian. He solo killed Knight’s HongQ directly, punishing him, and in the first game used Azir to aggressively push back opponents and secure kills with his support.

In the bot lane, Elk also gained the upper hand, with a standout moment being a Jhin ultimate hitting all four shots in one go. The last two bullets targeted a low-health Miss Fortune; after the first hit, the second was predicted perfectly, and GALA flashed to dodge but was instantly killed.
BLG reclaims the top spot, LPL descends into chaos
Another notable matchup was between Jiejie and Junjia, both former EDG players. Perhaps for this reason, Jiejie also broke out, coordinating the team well with his Jarvan in the first game to control all lanes and gain advantages. In the second game, his Poppy continued to shine, earning MVP honors for the match.

Editor’s note
In contrast, Junjia reverted to his familiar form, with his Vi jungle Q being interrupted and repeatedly misplayed against Titan, showing a series of questionable moves.

After being predicted and killed in the first game, GALA used Varus in the second but again died due to a flash mistake when the opponent’s Thresh flanked and collided with the wall. The bot lane disparity over two games was significant, quickly tipping the game in WBG’s favor, who played a more resource-rich style than BLG.

In the previous match between BLG and JDG, BLG managed to gain advantages in both games, but JDG recovered each time, either through better team comps or capitalizing on opponent errors. This time, JDG’s performance was clearly different, suffering continuous losses after falling behind.
Following this match, BLG successfully reclaimed the top spot, plunging the LPL into a chaotic state once more.
LPL forms a closed loop again, outlook remains bleak
It was originally expected that BLG would dominate the first round undefeated, with Bin even commenting that the league’s strength was insufficient and that they needed to prove themselves at Worlds. However, after the first round, the overall LPL situation is still not optimistic, with no stable elite team capable of competing with the LCK.

The usual closed-loop scenario has appeared again: AL beats TES, TES beats WBG, WBG beats IG, IG beats JDG, JDG beats BLG, and BLG beats AL.
The reason for this chaotic situation, in my opinion, is that all teams in the LPL Peak Group have their own flaws or weaknesses. There is no truly strong team. On the positive side, everyone is still not fully coordinated and has room for improvement; on the negative side, the LPL teams are inconsistent, with player skill and teamwork lagging behind the LCK by a level.

It’s important to note that the current LCK region has stronger fighting ability, better discipline, and superior team operations—almost legendary in this game’s history. The LPL is almost comprehensively suppressed. To break through, more effort is required. Hopefully, all teams will learn from their losses after the first round and show improved performances in the second round.
