VCT Masters: From a two-point halftime deficit to an overtime comeback, G2 eliminates T1 2-0 to advance to the quarterfinals.

At the Valorant Masters San Diego Swiss stage third round, G2 advanced to the quarterfinals after a 2-0 victory over T1.

Map 1: Breeze

Defending side T1: Viper, Sova, Yoru, Jett, Astra

Attacking side G2: Yoru, Neon, Viper, Astra, Sova

T1 secured the first three rounds of the half. G2 staged an eco-round comeback in round 4 with a successful B-site execute. They then held off T1's retake on B in round 5 to claim another round.

In round 7, T1 conceded mid control and gathered information with a slow push, but their retake was countered by G2 who capitalized on the timing.

G2 went on a six-round winning streak. In round 10, T1's eco round, they won a mid duel to complete a force-buy victory.

Round 11 saw leaf and valyn combine forces to defeat T1 in a clutch situation despite being outnumbered. The first half ended with G2 leading 7-5.

In the second half, T1 struggled to mount any effective offense, only managing to win a single bonus round.

T1 called their second timeout in round 18 to adjust, but G2 aggressively pushed into A site to gain a numerical advantage and won the retake by leveraging their player count lead.

T1 failed to break through G2's defense even in the match point round, ultimately losing Map 1 with a score of 13-6 to G2.

Map 2: Abyss

Defending side G2: Chamber, Phoenix, Yoru, Astra, Omen

Attacking side T1: Omen, Sova, Cypher, Yoru, Deadlock

The first half began with both teams trading force-buy victories, leading to a back-and-forth scoreline. T1 secured round 6 with a successful C-site rush.

T1 found an opening by eliminating babybay's mid defense. Despite G2 using two consecutive timeouts, they could not hold back T1's offensive pushes.

T1 went on a nine-round streak in the first half, reaching 10 rounds, while G2 only managed to secure two.

Starting the second half, G2 won the pistol round. In round 15, G2 attacked the A site, eliminated T1's retaking players, and won against T1's bonus round.

G2 mounted an eight-round streak to tie the score. In round 21, G2 won against T1's eco round on the A site. The crucial round 22 saw G2 breach the B site defense, but Buzz clutched the final 1v1 against trent to secure the round for T1.

In round 23, Buzz's Operator hold applied significant pressure on G2's attack, preventing their entry. G2 attempted a site rotation but were stalled out by T1.

Round 24 featured a fast A-site execute by G2. T1's five-player retake failed, allowing G2 to force overtime.

In the third round of overtime, G2 gained control of A main. JAWGEMO held off T1's initial push, and G2's four-player retake secured the round easily. After switching sides, G2 quickly executed on A site to win the map.

Despite being down with only two rounds in the first half, G2 showed remarkable resilience in the second half to tie the game and ultimately triumph in overtime, securing their advancement to the quarterfinals.
