BLG was upset by WE! Coach Daeny: If we keep giving away games like this, we can't beat anyone!

On the Knight's Road of the 2026 LPL Second Stage, no one anticipated iG and WBG falling into the Nirvana group—after all, both teams boast star players and significant investment, yet they ended up in Nirvana! Being in Nirvana means the entire Third Stage is stalled; though they still have some games, the number is minimal and nowhere near the level of the Summit group. Returning to the Second Stage playoffs, TES, JDG, and AL advanced easily. No one expected that in the most unlikely matchup, an upset would occur: WE completed a black-eight miracle, defeating BLG 3-1 to move on to the next round!

Just how big is the gap between these two teams? One is the LPL's "galaxy flagship"—the strongest team in the league, with the best players in every position. They also earned the First All-Pro Team, a first in LPL history, making them the league's "historical first team"! On the other side, WE's lineup is quite obscure: their top laner even spent half a year playing as a paid teammate, and their support Erha was abandoned by WBG. Despite this, BLG still managed to lose. Losing a single game might be acceptable, but losing 1-3 is a result many BLG fans will find hard to accept!

Although the scoreline reads BLG 1-3, looking at the four games, it was essentially 0-4. WE played sloppily every match, yet they consistently gained a huge lead early on, as if their mid-jungle duo had complete control! The difference between a strong team and a weak team is that the strong team creates opportunities while the weak team only gives them away. WE gave away many chances, but their advantage was so big—and once they realized they could win—they seized the moment and took the whole series! Currently, BLG has fallen to the losers' bracket. Although they lost, there is still a chance to recover and potentially go on an "one-to-five" run to win the championship!

This BO5 had little to do with the draft; given the skill gap, playing at their usual training level should have made it an easy win. After the match, BLG coach Daeny was furious. In an interview, Daeny said, "If we keep giving away games like today, we'll lose to anyone. It's not about one or two players dying once—it's about huge errors in judgment. No matter which team we face, we'll lose if we play like that!"
