MSI 2026: Zeka's Viktor claims a triple kill with Arcane Storm as HLE sweeps TSW 3-0

The gap in coordinated roams and teamfight execution was significant. TSW managed to cause some trouble in Game 2 behind Volibear's raw strength, but HLE consistently snowballed their gold lead through wave management and objective control, ultimately taking the series 3-0.

Game 1

HLE: Jayce, Skarner, Cassiopeia, Ziggs, Shen

TSW: Sion, Lee Sin, Ryze, Ezreal, Rell

In the early game, Gumayusi's Ziggs held his own 1v2 against the TSW bot lane, freeing Delight's Shen to roam mid. Shen set up in the pixel brush and landed a clean Flash-E taunt on Ryze, allowing Zeka's Cassiopeia to secure First Blood.

Early on, HLE secured CS leads in all three lanes through champion advantages and superior mechanics. Kanavi's Skarner focused his first gank on the mid lane, killing Dire's Ryze twice in a row, effectively crippling him. After recalling, Shen roamed top to help Zeus's Jayce take down Sion. With HLE fully controlling the top-side vision, TSW could only concede the Voidgrubs and secure the Chemtech Drake to minimize losses. At 12 minutes, Ryze swapped to the bottom lane to catch up on farm, but he was too weak—not even finishing his Rod of Ages—and was solo-killed by Ziggs. This led to TSW's bot lane tower falling, followed by HLE taking the Hextech Drake. HLE's top-side jungle was killed in a 3v3 top lane, but since no neutral objectives were available, HLE retained the tempo advantage.

HLE continued to accelerate the snowball in the mid-game. After taking the Rift Herald uncontested, they pushed through TSW's top lane inhibitor turret. By the time Baron Nashor spawned, TSW had lost all their outer turrets and trailed by 8,000 gold. HLE's first Baron attempt was stalled when Ryze used his ultimate to scout the pit, but he was quickly killed. HLE reset, took down the pesky Ryze, and secured the Baron on their second attempt. In return, TSW could only take a single outer turret bot lane. HLE then grouped mid, aced the fight with a 0-for-2 trade, and ended the game swiftly in 26 minutes to take a 1-0 lead.

Game 2

HLE: Ambessa, Qiyana, Ahri, Mel, Camille

TSW: Volibear, Jarvan IV, Aurora, Jhin, Elise

TSW improved their laning in this game, matching HLE in farm top and mid. Pun's Volibear tried a level 3 Flash all-in on Zeus, but TSW's bot lane couldn't pressure Gumayusi's Mel. A timely roam from Delight's Camille to the top lane diffused the tower dive, killing Volibear for First Blood. The rest of the team collapsed to the skirmish, and Volibear died again upon teleporting back, resulting in a 2-for-5 ace for HLE who snowballed from there.

Despite getting aced in the first skirmish, TSW showed resilience. Their jungle-support duo roamed effectively, killing a cooldown-less Zeka Ahri mid and catching Kanavi's Qiyana in his own jungle. HLE maintained a stable objective rhythm, taking the first two Dragons and Grubs. At 15 minutes, a chaotic fight broke out bot lane. Volibear, with his Spirit Visage completed, became unkillable, securing kills on Ambessa and Mel. TSW managed to disengage perfectly. After respawning, HLE avoided direct confrontation, instead using wave management to take TSW's top and mid inner turrets, building up a 7,000 gold lead.

TSW relied on their fed Volibear to anchor teamfights, so HLE quickly adapted. Instead of all-in brawling, they switched to kiting. After warding the Baron pit, they set up an ambush. The mid-jungle duo found a pick on the immobile Jhin and chunked Aurora, leaving Volibear with no one to fight. Forced to concede Baron, TSW fell behind. After resetting, HLE pushed mid. Volibear overextended to dive the backline, getting cut off from his team and focused down. HLE won the ensuing fight 2-for-4 and closed out the game, taking a 2-0 lead.

Game 3

HLE: Dr. Mundo, Nocturne, Viktor, Miss Fortune, Bard

TSW: Renekton, Naafiri, Hwei, Caitlyn, Karma

The intensity didn't drop in Game 3. Zeka's Viktor was aggressive in trades, continuing his dominance over Dire's Hwei. The top lane battle was also fierce. Pun's Renekton, chunked by Zeus's Dr. Mundo, hesitated to recall and greedily stayed for CS, only to be killed by a well-aimed Infected Cleaver from Mundo for First Blood.

HLE exploited Renekton's weakness by ganking top repeatedly. Renekton died three times in the early game, falling completely out of the game. TSW retaliated by pressuring HLE's bot lane. Dire's Hwei and Hizto's Naafiri rotated down, forcing Miss Fortune to a 1/3 health and forcing her to swap top. TSW took the bot lane turret, Dragon, and Rift Herald, achieving their first economic lead of the series. However, HLE regrouped mid-game, securing better positioning in the Dragon river fight. They neutralized Naafiri's engage, and Dr. Mundo's clever flank split TSW's formation. HLE won the fight 1-for-2, reclaiming the gold lead.

Both teams' junglers had point-and-click lockdown abilities, making Miss Fortune and Viktor frequent targets, which kept the game close. At 25 minutes, a fight erupted over mid lane priority. HLE's kiting and positioning were superior. Zeka's Viktor unleashed a perfect Arcane Storm, securing a triple kill. HLE aced TSW 4-for-0 and claimed Baron Nashor. They pushed down the bottom lane and ended the game immediately, securing a hard-fought 3-0 victory and advancing to the Winners' Bracket.
