On July 4th Beijing time, the first match of day two in the 2026 MSI Knockout Stage pitted LCS first seed LYON against Brazil's CBLOL first seed FUR! With a stark contrast in strategic depth, LYON swept FUR 3-0 without dropping a single game to move on to the Winners' Bracket.
Game 1

FUR: Sion, Naafiri, Ryze, Jinx, Karma
LYON: Jayce, Jarvan IV, Syndra, Ezreal, Neeko
Both teams favored an aggressive style, leading to a fiery start: the bot lanes clashed around the tribush brush above the blue side's bot tower. Berserker's Ezreal used Exhaust to force out Jinx's Barrier and Karma's Heal, allowing LYON's bot duo to secure lane priority. FUR responded by calling for reinforcements, but a communication error during Naafiri's bot lane gank allowed Ezreal and Neeko to escape without using Flash. However, mid laner Saint's Syndra had her level 3 E "Scatter the Weak" dodged by Tutsz's Ryze using Ghost. Ryze then Flash-engaged with a full combo to secure a solo kill and first blood!

In the early game, LYON's bot lane was solid and mistake-free, prompting Naafiri to focus on the top lane. "Indian God King" Dhokla's Jayce was repeatedly targeted, dying three times consecutively. Inspired's Jarvan IV mitigated losses by securing two early Dragons. Despite FUR's success topside, LYON's mid and bot lanes had better development. The overall game state didn't favor FUR significantly. The mid-game pace was measured, with only one major team fight erupting after a Dragon spawn. Guigo's Sion initiated, absorbing LYON's initial burst and using his ultimate to disrupt LYON's formation. This led FUR to a 2-for-5 ace, securing the Wind Dragon and interrupting LYON's Dragon Soul pace, though gold remained even.

Frustrated by the dragon fight loss, LYON aggressively invaded FUR's top jungle. FUR's team fight kiting proved superior, resulting in a 0-for-2 takedown of LYON's mid-jungle duo and Baron Nashor. As LYON fell further behind, they grouped mid to slow FUR's tower push. Neeko initiated with her ultimate, locking down Jinx. Jayce dove for a kill but traded 1-for-1 with Jinx before falling, while Sion took down LYON's bot outer turret. FUR's gold lead grew to 3k. LYON regrouped, catching a wandering Ryze near the Baron pit and later securing Naafili's shutdown in a Dragon fight, stabilizing their position. At 33 minutes, Sion and Jayce dueled bot, but Syndra's Teleport was met by Jinx's timely arrival, giving FUR a 0-for-2. LYON ceded Baron to continue side-lane pressure, finally killing Jinx.
FUR then took another Baron uncontested and pushed bot. However, Guigo's Sion, building Death's Dance, played overly aggressively, isolating himself from his team. LYON capitalized with a 2-for-5 ace, turning the game around. They took FUR's mid inhibitor turret, equalizing the gold gap. In the late game, during the Elder Dragon fight, Saint's Syndra made a crucial steal. LYON then dominated, achieving a 1-for-5 ace and ending the game in a comeback, taking a 1-0 lead!
Game 2

LYON: Gnar, Wukong, Galio, Ziggs, Camille
FUR: Ambessa, Vi, Aurora, Cassiopeia, Rell
Both bot lanes featured AP damage and tank supports, but Cassiopeia had higher early sustained damage. After LYON's duo pushed the wave into FUR's tower, they were pursued by FUR's duo. Among the four champions, only Camille was level 2, so JoJo's Rell targeted her, allowing Ayu's Cassiopeia to take first blood.

After respawning, LYON support Camille roamed to create advantages, but FUR's counter-ganks were well-timed. Camille died twice in a row, allowing FUR to secure the first Dragon. LYON traded by taking Rift Scuttlers. In the mid-game, skirmishes shifted top lane, with Wukong and Vi each finding ganks. LYON's lane swap management was superior, taking both top and bot outer turrets and the second Dragon. At 17 minutes, FUR secured Dragon river priority. JoJo's Rell engaged on a face-checking Wukong, but LYON's duo ultimates didn't combo effectively. FUR won the fight 1-for-3, taking the Dragon and LYON's top outer turret, losing vision control in their blue-side jungle.

Facing pressure at Baron River, LYON's Galio was forced to scout and was caught and killed by FUR. FUR then started Baron to force a fight. Berserker's Ziggs poked effectively from the Baron pit, stalling until his teammates respawned and arrived. Isles's Camille used E+Flash+R to catch Aurora, killing FUR's mid-jungle. LYON took over the Baron, turning the tables and taking FUR's bot inner turret, gaining a 3k gold lead. Subsequent skirmishes bot were chaotic. At 35 minutes, LYON started the Dragon first. Aurora attempted to flank from LYON's red-side jungle, but FUR's frontline was caught. FUR's formation collapsed, allowing LYON to secure a 0-for-4 ace! Though LYON couldn't finish the game immediately, FUR's mid-jungle duo sacrificed themselves to defend the nexus towers. FUR's remaining three chased too aggressively. LYON retaliated with a 0-for-2 in mid-lane and ended the game, securing a 2-0 lead!
Game 3

LYON: Varus, Lee Sin, Viktor, Kog'Maw, Lulu
FUR: Olaf, Xin Zhao, Sylas, Lucian, Milio
At the start, LYON's mid and bot lanes performed as expected. "Indian God King" Dhokla's Varus was quickly pressured by Guigo's Olaf who crossed the minion wave to leave him under half health. Though Olaf avoided Inspired's Lee Sin's first gank, Lee Sin's second topside gank succeeded when Olaf couldn't finish off Varus. Varus claimed first blood.

Lee Sin frequently roamed top in the early game to support Varus's push. After Olaf reached level 6, Xin Zhao also ganked top. The level 6 top-jungle power disparity was stark. Olaf activated "The Berserker" ultimate, becoming a rage-filled warrior. Sylas's clever roam assisted FUR's top-jungle duo in securing a 0-for-2. After this fight, LYON swapped lanes. Kog'Maw and Lulu moved top to pressure Olaf and avoid FUR's bot lane's strong phase, while Varus rotated mid to farm. FUR calmly secured the first two Dragons and Rift Herald. However, LYON's duo carries had a significant CS advantage. Varus returned top to solo the first turret. LYON's superior wave management gave them a gold lead. At 18 minutes, FUR's jungler Tatu was caught and killed by LYON at the Dragon river before support arrived. LYON then took the Dragon, interrupting FUR's Dragon Soul pace and extending their gold lead to 3k.

FUR's Dragon Soul rhythm broken, they grew impatient and attempted an engage from an ambush at the Dragon river. This backfired, costing them their mid-jungle-support trio for just one kill on Kog'Maw. LYON turned the fight 1-for-3 and claimed Baron Nashor effortlessly! At 23 minutes, Xin Zhao engaged on Viktor from mid-lane. LYON's three carries played it safe. Dhokla's Varus scored a quadra kill leading to a 0-for-5 ace! After respawning, FUR chased Viktor bot side. LYON's reinforcements arrived in time for a 1-for-5 ace, bringing their gold lead over 10k. FUR's item disadvantage was insurmountable. LYON pushed mid and bot simultaneously to end the game, sweeping FUR 3-0 to advance to the Winners' Bracket!
