LOL-MSI: Faker's crucial rock wall breaks the stalemate, T1 sweeps FUR 3-0 to advance

On July 6th Beijing time, the second match of Day 4 in the 2026 MSI playoff elimination stage featured T1, the LCK second seed from the loser's bracket, against FUR, the CBLOL first seed.

The skill disparity was huge. FUR managed to go toe-to-toe with T1 early in the first game, but as the mid-game began, T1 shifted into their signature macro-focused rhythm, excelling at map control and teamfights. They won 3-0 to eliminate FUR and secure a spot in the second round of the loser's bracket.

Game 1

T1: Jayce, Trundle, Orianna, Syndra, Camille

FUR: Sion, Lee Sin, Ryze, Cassiopeia, Rell

Early on, T1 had lane priority in the top and mid lanes, so Trundle's first gank targeted the bottom lane. Keria's Camille hid in the brush near the FUR bot tower, initiating with a hold to force Rell's Flash. However, Oner's Trundle misused his E (pillar) and accidentally knocked Rell away, so he had to Flash for a tower dive to secure first blood, but was then taken down by Lee Sin.

In the early phase, both junglers focused on the side lanes. Lee Sin ganked top successfully, killing an overextended Jayce. Then Trundle retaliated by diving and killing Sion. FUR took the opportunity to secure the first dragon. T1 showed superior execution in subsequent neutral objective fights, winning a 3-for-0 teamfight over the Voidgrubs. FUR regrouped and temporarily stopped the bleeding with a 2-for-0 skirmish in the river near bot. Although FUR traded evenly with T1 in chaotic jungle brawls, T1's macro and tower-pushing remained consistent. Doran's Jayce solo-killed the top lane first turret, then rotated mid after power-spiking. T1 collapsed on Sion, killing him. Without a frontline, FUR had to concede the Rift Herald. Before Baron spawned, FUR lost both mid and bot tier 1 towers, and T1 held a 5k gold lead.

In the mid-game, FUR's only advantage was controlling two dragons, but losing all tier 1 towers severely limited their vision in both jungles. Their carries needed significant scaling time and lacked damage in teamfights. When T1 invaded FUR's top jungle, Tatu's Lee Sin flashed and R+Flash kicked Peyz's Syndra into his team. Both champions died in the exchange, but FUR still couldn't find a breakthrough. T1 slowly chipped away at FUR's mid and bot tier 2 towers and the bot inhibitor tower through wave management, snowballing a nearly 10k gold lead.

FUR hoped T1 would start Baron so they could steal it and extend the game, but T1 played patiently and never gave FUR a chance to contest smite. At 30 minutes, both teams postured mid, exchanging spells without kills. FUR had to recall due to low HP, allowing T1 to take both mid and bot inhibitors. T1 then rotated top, where FUR's Sion teleported to flank in a desperate move. T1 calmly focused and killed Ryze first, and Sion's teleport landed only to feed. T1 went 2-for-0, pushed the top inhibitor, and ended the game with textbook macro play, taking a calm 1-0 lead.

Game 2

T1: Rumble, Jarvan IV, Annie, Caitlyn, Lux

FUR: Ornn, Aatrox, Ahri, Ezreal, Bard

Early on, T1 had lane priority in all three lanes. By level 3, their mid and bot were already crushing FUR's lanes. Tutsz's Ahri nearly died to Faker's Annie solo kill and had to recall, while T1's bot lane stood in front of FUR's bot tower, freely eating plates and throwing spells. T1 had a 1k gold lead during the laning phase. At 8 minutes, Oner's Jarvan was spotted trying to take the dragon. Bard ulted to force Jarvan's Flash, Lux's combo chunked Ezreal, and Jarvan ulted only to be kited by Ezreal's E. Aatrox ulted and counter-killed Jarvan for first blood.

Tatu's Aatrox and Peyz's Caitlyn were the key pacesetters for both teams. Before T1 bot lane swapped, Aatrox ganked top successfully. Doran's Rumble got pinched by FUR's top-jungle and chose to let Ornn take the kill to deny Aatrox the gold. Then T1's bot lane, rotating top, encountered Aatrox jungle invading and easily killed him. Caitlyn put heavy pressure on FUR's top tower, forcing FUR to commit multiple defenders. T1's mid and bot took their towers in the meantime, while FUR secured two dragons to partially mitigate losses.

At 18 minutes, FUR's mid and jungle tried to hold Faker's Annie top. Doran's Rumble teleported in to save his teammate, ulting to slow Ahri and chunk her HP. Caitlyn's long-range ult secured the kill. Meanwhile, Jarvan ulted Bard mid-lane, helping Caitlyn earn a double kill. Before Baron spawned, FUR's top and mid—Guigo's Ornn and Tutsz's Ahri—missed countless abilities bot lane but still managed a risky dive to kill Rumble. T1 took the wind dragon to break FUR's dragon soul rhythm, extending their lead to 3k.

In the mid-game, FUR again lost their rhythm, just like in game 1. Forced to accelerate, they invaded T1's top jungle. T1's teamfight positioning was superior: Rumble's ult chunked FUR's HP, Peyz's Caitlyn had a perfect environment to deal damage, and Ahri and Aatrox fell one after another. T1 won a 0-for-2 fight and took Baron uncontested!

FUR waited for their mid and jungle to respawn and then contested the dragon. Guigo's Ornn traded 1-for-1 with Oner's Jarvan, giving FUR the wind dragon soul point. T1 chased with Caitlyn, winning a 1-for-3 and destroying FUR's bot inhibitor, pushing their lead to 8k. Finally, FUR went all-in bot lane. Ornn ulted and tanked damage, but Aatrox hesitated on the flank while their carries were far behind. T1 focused and killed Ornn, the only frontline, then pushed the bot lane to end the game, taking a 2-0 lead and securing match point!

Game 3

T1: Varus, Vi, Taliyah, Kalista, Renata

FUR: Gnar, Nasus, Aurora, Senna, Seraphine

With their backs against the wall, FUR drafted another carry-jungle composition. Mid laner Tutsz picked his signature Aurora and nearly solo-killed Faker's Taliyah at level 3. After both burned Flashes, the low-HP Taliyah had to recall. T1's bot lane had lane priority and at level 3 called Oner's Vi for a tower dive on FUR's bot duo. Keria's Renata gave herself the "Timely Rescue" W, but T1 was too slow killing Senna, so Renata gave first blood. Kalista got Senna's kill, and FUR traded 1-for-1, which was acceptable.

Early on, FUR's bot lane was targeted. Taliyah hit level 6 and ulted straight to bot, cutting off the Nasus jungle's path to help, allowing T1 to kill FUR's bot duo. However, Nasus picked up Taliyah's kill. T1's bot lane priority soon extended to the jungle, allowing Vi to take the first dragon. T1 repeated their strategy from the previous game: bot duo recalled and swapped top to try snowballing. But FUR reacted quickly this time, winning a 1-for-3 in their top jungle to stabilize. Later, during the dragon fight, Oner's Vi stole the dragon, and both teams traded spells without casualties, backing off.

At 15 minutes, the Rift Herald fight broke out. Faker's Taliyah solo-killed FUR's bot tower (first turret) and didn't participate. FUR's 5v4 front-to-back fight split T1's formation, securing a 0-for-2 but failing to steal the Herald. FUR's top tower fell. Before Baron spawned, FUR showcased their kiting power in the river near bot. Guigo's mega Gnar and Tatu's Nasus cleaned up the skirmish, leading FUR to a 3-for-3 and taking the dragon, breaking T1's dragon soul rhythm. The teams were even in gold.

Mid-game, both teams fought for mid lane control. FUR's top-mid-jungle were not intimidated and traded 2-for-2, keeping the game tense. At 22 minutes, FUR tried to catch T1 in the Baron river, but T1 quickly collapsed and countered with a 3-for-0, killing Nasus (who had nearly 600 stacks). T1 took Baron. When T1 pushed bot, Peyz and Keria overextended chasing a low-HP Aurora and got counter-engaged. Nasus ulted and became unstoppable, leading FUR to a 0-for-5 ace—the first time in the series FUR held a gold lead!

FUR waited for the next dragon and got to the pit first. T1 lacked engage tools and were on the back foot. FUR focused and killed Varus. Tutsz's Aurora recalled, healed up, and teleported above the dragon pit, but Faker's Taliyah predicted her landing with a rock wall, forcing her Flash. FUR secured the second wind dragon. T1 seized the opportunity while Aurora had no Flash: Taliyah landed a crucial rock wall at the Baron pit, lifting Aurora, and T1 killed her before taking Baron. Eventually, T1 pushed mid, winning a 0-for-3 and ending the game, eliminating FUR 3-0 in a close series to advance to the loser bracket's second round!
