TES mocked by international community; Knight speaks out: We will win the MSI championship and prove the strength of the LPL

Greetings to all LPL viewers and League of Legends summoners, this is the Global Game Hub.

The MSI Mid-Season Invitational has entered the top-six stage, and the LPL's second seed, TES, has set a new shameful record by being eliminated in the MSI quarterfinals, becoming a laughingstock across the internet and facing ridicule from international netizens.

Recently, Knight gave an interview, stating that he will prove the LPL's strength through action.

After TES's elimination, the video went viral abroad

TES was eliminated in the quarterfinals of this MSI, losing to a Vietnamese team in a BO5 series, creating another new piece of history. Many viewers commented that there are not many records left for TES to break in League of Legends. Previously, they suffered a "Grand Slam" defeat against all four major regions, being completely outplayed by Korean teams, and now they have been eliminated by a Vietnamese team in a BO5.

The MSI main event consists of eight teams. The LPL, as the top region from the first split, seeing its second seed eliminated in the quarterfinals is something that was unimaginable in the past—but TES made it happen.

Imagine if BLG hadn't won the first split, and if TES had started from the play-in stage, they might not have even made it to the top eight. Such a TES has finally caught the attention of international viewers. International audiences, especially from Europe and America, are already accustomed to their own teams not achieving good results, so they have a high tolerance for a team's weakness.

But this time, even they couldn't stay calm. TES is jokingly referred to as a "band" by domestic viewers, with many highly viewed videos on streaming platforms. Recently, the video "Sudden Top-Spinning" has become popular abroad. Many international players have watched it, and Jankos commented: "Chinese-style sarcasm is the best."

Knight speaks up for the LPL: We will win the championship

TES's failure also makes viewers question the true strength of the LPL. How could the LPL's second seed lose to a Vietnamese team? Does this prove that the LPL is actually weak overall, with only BLG being a top-tier team?

Regarding this question, Knight gave his response in a recent interview.

Knight said directly: "There are still many strong teams in the LPL; they just didn't perform well. I think the LPL is the strongest right now." He then added that they would strive to win the championship to change everyone's perception of the LPL and prove the region's strength.

Finally, the host asked Knight about the mid-lane strength in this MSI. Knight replied: "The mid-lane competition is very strong in this tournament. LCK players are playing very well, but I believe I am the strongest mid-laner."

This contrasts with Knight's previous interviews, where he was asked similar questions but gave modest answers, saying he wanted to become the strongest rather than claiming to be. This time, however, his confidence has clearly returned—the "arrogant little hands" form is back, which is good news for BLG.

Analysis of TES's failure: fundamental issues hard to resolve

Knight has always said what he thinks in interviews, neither exaggerating nor being overly modest. If Knight believes he is the strongest, there is a good chance he actually is. This can be tested in the upcoming match against HLE. If Knight can suppress Zeka, BLG's chances of winning will be high.

As for TES's failure, is it the team's failure or the region's failure? Personally, I think it is a bit of both, but the former plays a larger role.

In the history of the LPL, some teams have indeed shown a trait of being "choking in big matches." Once they enter the intensity of world-level competitions, they immediately fall apart and fail to perform at the level they showed in the league stage. TES is exactly that kind of team. Since its inception, this team has had fundamental issues that have never been resolved over the years.

TES lacks the ability to solve problems. The team is missing a true leading figure to guide them. Player roles are unclear, tactics are not well-defined, and the coaching staff has always been insufficient. Over the years, the players' morale has been worn down, they lack drive in world events, and their playstyle is too passive.

TES's characteristics are somewhat similar to S5-S8 EDG, but their results are even worse than EDG's. This year, TES gave fans a different impression, but they still managed to create new history. Honestly, there is a bit of bad luck involved, and when considering the team's historical traditions, there is certainly something to be said about it.
