Three VCTCN teams have been eliminated from the EWC group stage! Now they will go all out for the second split!

In the 2026 EWC Valorant event, to be honest, the timing was really awkward. Several teams had just finished the London Masters, and then the EWC followed immediately—the gap between the two tournaments was extremely tight! Although this is an international event with decent prize money, the overall broadcast quality and on-site setup made it feel more like a "niche tournament," which seemed quite odd! This time, three teams from the VCTCN region—EDG, XLG, and AG—competed, but unfortunately, all of them lost in the group stage and missed the EWC knockout rounds!

Among them, EDG lost to BBL twice, with a win over RRQ in between. However, it was understandable—for EDG, attending the EWC was merely a mission and a test for the team, since they were not at full strength. Smoggy was still recovering from health issues, so coach signed stepped in as a substitute. Given the circumstances, their performance was actually decent! Moreover, the key player's international tournament form remained strong, especially Zmjjkk, who managed to get four kills in a 1v5 situation, just missing out on an incredible "reverse clutch"!

As for XLG, they lost to M8 and G2 one after another, bidding an early farewell to their EWC journey. AG lost to TH, beat GE, and then lost to ML in their final match. Thus, all three VCTCN teams regrettably exited the EWC. While it's a pity, it might actually be a better outcome! Because the tournament schedule was extremely rushed—many teams had just finished the London Masters and had to fly straight to the competition without any rest. Even PRX, which dominates the Pacific region, couldn't secure a win at the EWC!

Apart from a few teams from the Americas and Europe that started later and played seriously, most teams from the Asia-Pacific and CN regions just wanted to finish quickly and return to training! After all, the more important second split is coming up next. It's like if you have a college entrance exam in two days, but your teacher suddenly forces you to participate in some irrelevant competition—obviously, the exam is the priority. So, the focus will now be on the VCTCN second split. Based on the current points, EDG is in a comfortable position, and the remaining three spots will depend on each team's performance. Looking forward to the start of the second split!
