BLG showcased a perfect team fight, defeating the Korean powerhouse 3-1. Knight achieved god-like status with his Mejai's Soulstealer, advancing to the finals.

Hello, all LPL viewers and League of Legends summoners. This is World of Esports.

Today’s MSI Mid-Season Invitational brought the ultimate clash: the upper bracket final between China and Korea, BLG versus HLE. BLG decisively went up 2-0, then held on to win a hard-fought fourth game after dropping one, securing their spot in the finals.

With this outstanding performance, BLG also secured a fourth seed slot for the LPL region at the World Championship.

BLG at full power, quickly building a 2-0 lead

Right from the start of this series, BLG displayed extraordinary form. In the first game, they flex-picked Cassiopeia bot and Akali mid, gaining an early advantage through draft design. Kanavi's aggressive jungle invade backfired as BLG counterattacked, securing two kills. With a huge lead, support On's Shen Flash-E combo took out Gumayusi first.

Knight developed smoothly, and BLG's pace was like a relentless wave. Knight repeatedly secured solo kills on the sidelines, ending team fights before they could really begin. BLG also invaded the jungle to catch Kanavi, culminating in a stunning 25-2 kill ratio for the entire game.

In the second game, BLG maintained their offensive momentum. They locked in Taliyah bot, which paid off early with a successful gank. HLE's attacks stalled, and Xun landed a flash kick on Gumayusi. After establishing bot-jungle synergy, they eliminated Zeus top, secured dragon tempo, and by 23 minutes won a decisive fight to claim the Infernal Soul.

The game was decided early, ending with a 23-6 scoreline. The two games were so one-sided they felt like a practice match against bots.

In the third game, HLE changed their approach. First-picking Viktor restricted BLG's strong laning champions, and they played around Viktor all game. Kanavi's jungle invade finally succeeded, giving HLE a lead and controlling BLG's pace from then on.

BLG's perfect team fight, Knight's god-like Mejai's Soulstealer

Trailing, BLG had no answer for Zeus's top-lane Mundo and eventually lost the third game.

In the fourth game, BLG set their draft core by first-picking Orianna. They gave up first blood top, then lost a jungle skirmish resulting in two deaths. However, HLE mishandled a crucial bot-lane team fight: after engaging on Neeko, they overextended and were countered by BLG.

BLG turned the tide with two kills, and Orianna reached a 3-0 score. BLG began building around Orianna, contesting the third dragon with HLE. Orianna and Neeko executed a perfect ultimate combo, winning the fight decisively, securing Baron, and starting their siege.

During defense, HLE caught Viper for a kill, but made a misjudgment in the jungle chase. Zeus forced an engage and was kited by Orianna. BLG counterattacked successfully, ultimately winning the game with a 37-minute team fight victory.

Knight achieved a god-like performance with a fully stacked Mejai's Soulstealer, posting a 25-3-29 KDA across four games.

Moreover, Knight's Orianna win streak now stands at 14 consecutive victories—essentially an automatic win when picked. BLG's near-flawless performance turned the Korean home arena into a library, with many spectators leaving before the fourth game even ended.

Double kill over LCK teams; BLG must prepare well

With this, BLG has completed a double kill over LCK teams and advanced to the finals. They now await their final opponent: LYON and G2 will first face off, with the winner taking on HLE to determine who advances to the finals.

Looking ahead to the final stage, I believe BLG should not let their guard down and need thorough preparation.

In this MSI, BLG is arguably the team with the deepest champion pool—unmatched. Their biggest draft highlight is Viper's unconventional AP picks, which consistently deliver results. The other four positions also have no issues with their champion pools.

Simply put, at the highest level of competition, BLG can counter every move their opponents make, while other teams may not have as many champions available. This is why BLG often gains an advantage in the draft phase.

As fans, the biggest hope now is that BLG still has hidden strategies for the finals—a single pick that can activate the entire team composition, giving them a major edge in the match. After this series, other teams will have a deeper understanding of BLG, so BLG needs to refine their draft approach to ultimately bring home this MSI championship for the LPL.
