TFT 18.1: Adaptive Master Yi reroll, an easy-to-play composition for climbing rank in early season 18

TFT season 18 has officially started, introducing many fresh traits and systems. For those new to the meta, the Master Yi – Kog'Maw Adaptive reroll build is definitely worth trying due to its easy-to-understand playstyle, simple item crafting, and stable strength when the key 3-star units are completed.

Flexible start, prioritize Master Yi items

From levels 5 to 7, you don't need to force a specific team composition. You can utilize any Brawler units that appear early, among which Blossomis a quite convenient option as it can still be used later.

Items should be prioritized for Master Yi from the start. A big advantage of this composition is that you don't rely heavily on armor reduction or magic resistance reduction items, because the effect of Kog'Maw's Corrosion already helps handle both defensive stats of the enemy.

When you reach level 6 and 7, keep the important units including Vi, Master Yi, Kog'Maw, and Golem, then gradually transition to the full composition.

Slow roll for Master Yi and Kog'Maw at level 7

Level 7 is the most crucial stage. You should complete the items for Master Yi and Kog'Maw, then start slow rolling to get both carries to 3 stars.

During the rolling process, don't ignore Sett and Nidalee if they appear. These two units help activate additional traits and will be valuable when the composition enters the late game.

The ideal goal is to have at least 3-star units before saving gold and leveling up to level 8. After that, add Star Frog to complete the Adaptive threshold. Sett can serve as the frontline tank, while Nidalee becomes a secondary damage source if you have leftover items.

If the game goes very smoothly and you have enough economy to reach level 9, you can add a supportive 5-cost unit like Ivern, or include a suitable unit to activate Jungle Monster/Spellcaster.

Standard items for Adaptive Master Yi

Master Yi prioritizes a set of items including Guinsoo's Rageblade, Giant Slayer or Quicksilver, combined with Edge of Night. Since his skill already has on-hit healing, Bloodthirster is not mandatory.

Kog'Maw can use Spear of Shojin along with two physical damage items, or Red Buff. Vi and Sett can hold any three tank items, while Nidalee uses leftover AP or attack speed items.

For Augments and support effects, prioritize those that help generate extra items, because the Master Yi reroll comp needs quite a lot of items to maximize both carries and frontline.

Thanks to its simple playstyle and not overly complex conditions, the Adaptive Master Yi reroll is one of the suitable choices for players to get used to TFT 18.1 before exploring more difficult-to-execute compositions.
