Top 5 strongest team compositions in TFT 18.1: Aphelios, Ahri, and Master Yi dominate the early season meta

TFT Set 18 – Mystic Forest has officially arrived on the live servers with version 18.1. After nearly a month of testing on PBE, many strong builds continue to hold their ground, among which Forest Aphelios, Bloom Ahri, and Adaptive Master Yi are notable choices for early season climbing.

Forest Aphelios

Forest Aphelios stands out due to its ability to build a composition from very early on. Xayah, Alistar, LeBlanc, and Ornn can all appear in the early game, helping players activate traits and hold items for the carry.

When reaching level 8, Aphelios takes on the main damage role with Guinsoo's Rageblade, Infinity Edge, and Runaan's Hurricane, while Lillia becomes the main tank. The final composition can include Gnar, Forest Lux, Aphelios, Lillia, Alune, Alistar, LeBlanc, Ornn, and Xayah. The weakness is that Aphelios and Lillia are highly contested.

Ahri Bloom

If you need an easy-to-transition mage composition, Bloom Ahri is a very stable choice. Karma can hold AP items for Ahri from the early game, while Yorick and Yunara help activate 3 Bloom early.

At level 8, the main goal is to find 2-star Ahri and Sett. Sett holds the front line, Ahri deals magic damage, while Ashe, Sivir, or Zyra can become secondary carries depending on items. The biggest strength of this composition is its ability to distribute resources among multiple carries rather than relying entirely on one champion.

Primal Nidalee

AP Nidalee combined with Primal – Sorcerer is also showing considerable power.

This is a fast 8 build, using the strongest composition to preserve HP before transferring AP items to Nidalee or Morgana. The complete form can include Taric, Morgana, Nidalee, Alune, Ancient Guardian, Diana, Kog'Maw, Vi, and Rakan.

Nidalee deals the main damage, Morgana provides additional DPS, while Taric creates a tanky frontline. However, the composition requires good economy and a timely 2-star Nidalee.

Adaptive Master Yi – Kog'Maw

This is a suitable choice for those who like rerolling at level 7.

Players slow roll for 3-star Master Yi, Kog'Maw, and Krug, while also keeping Vi if she appears frequently. The common form includes Nidalee, Kog'Maw, Krug, Master Yi, Sett, Vi, Star Toad, and Yorick.

The advantage is that the power spike comes early, helping to overwhelm players who are saving gold for fast 8. However, if many players contest the same units, the chance to 3-star the carries decreases significantly.

Fairy Tristana

Tristana reroll combined with Fairy – Mischievous – Hunter continues to be a viable build. Players often slow roll at level 7 to find 3-star Tristana, Rammus, and Vi.

Tristana prioritizes Guinsoo's Rageblade, Hextech Gunblade, and other DPS items, while Rammus takes on the tank role. If you have a Fairy Emblem, the power ceiling of the composition increases significantly.

In the early meta of TFT 18.1, Forest Aphelios and Bloom Ahri are suitable for those who prefer fast 8, while Master Yi and Tristana are accessible choices for reroll playstyles. The meta will certainly continue to evolve, but these are the five most worth-trying frameworks to start your ranked climb in Set 18.
