In the LCK third stage regular season BO3 between T1 and GEN, after three fierce matches, T1 secured a 2-1 victory over GEN, achieving their revenge and ending GEN's 27-match winning streak.
In the first game, T1 had Rumble in the top lane, Elise in the jungle, Annie in the mid lane, and a bot lane of Miss Fortune and Niko; while GEN had Gwen in the top lane, Monkey King in the jungle, Orianna in the mid lane, and Jhin and Bard in the bot lane. During the laning phase, T1 frequently ganked mid, securing multiple kills on Chovy's Orianna, who started 0-3. T1 then used the Rift Herald to take down the first turret in mid, but Kiin managed to solo kill Faker's Annie in top lane, keeping the gold even in the early game.
In the mid-game, Doran's Rumble secured a solo kill on Kiin's Gwen under the tower, but both teams contested the Herald. Doran's Rumble made a mistake with his ultimate, allowing GEN to claim the Herald. At the 22-minute mark, both teams fought for the dragon; Chovy's Orianna landed a perfect ultimate on five, and GEN's jungle and support followed up with control, easily achieving a 0-for-5 trade. At 26 minutes, after GEN killed T1's top and jungle duo, they initiated a Baron attempt, but Gumayusi's Miss Fortune secured the first Baron. At 28 minutes, GEN took the third dragon and then caught Doran's Rumble in the top lane, chasing T1 to their base and killing four of them to win the first game. Kiin's Gwen dealt the most damage in the first game, while Doran's Rumble had the highest damage for T1.
In the second game, T1 fielded Jayce in the top lane, Rek'Sai in the jungle, Azir in the mid lane, and had Rakan and Xayah in the bot lane; while GEN picked K'Sante in the top lane, Elise in the jungle, Twisted Fate in the mid lane, and Lucian with Braum in the bot lane. During the laning phase, both teams exchanged blows, with the gold remaining fairly even in the early game.
In the mid-game, both teams contested the Rift Herald, and Oner's Rek'Sai secured it, scattering GEN's formation. T1 chased down and achieved a 1-for-4 trade. At the 20-minute mark, T1 took the Herald. At 25 minutes, GEN initiated a Baron fight, but when T1 arrived, Chovy's Twisted Fate was caught out and eliminated. Faker's Azir then hit four with his ultimate, allowing T1 to chase down and kill four of GEN, securing their first Baron. Ultimately, in the late game at the 30-minute mark, both teams clashed in the upper jungle; although Gumayusi's Xayah was killed, T1 won the team fight, wiping out GEN and taking victory in the second game.
In the third game, GEN had Renekton in the top lane, Troll in the jungle, Viktor in the mid lane, and Senna with Alistar in the bot lane; while T1 played Gragas in the top lane, Xin Zhao in the jungle, Ryze in the mid lane, and Aphelios with Thresh in the bot lane. During the laning phase, T1 had a strong start, with Gumayusi's Aphelios securing kills with teammate support, leading to good farm. At the 15-minute mark, when GEN grouped to push mid, they engaged but failed to kill Keria's Thresh. T1 supported each other and dove under the tower, resulting in a team wipe of GEN and a 4K gold lead in the early game.
In the mid-game, T1 secured the Herald without any casualties. At 21 minutes, after a 2-for-2 trade in the bot lane, they pushed down GEN's bot lane inhibitor. At 26 minutes, T1 initiated a Baron fight, and GEN's teleport attempts were thwarted, leading to a 0-for-2 trade for T1, securing victory in the match.
