The list of 16 players who made it to the Last 16 round of the Hanoi Open Pool Championship 2025 has been revealed. Remarkably, the host Vietnam has only one player still competing.
After three demanding days of competition, the Hanoi Open Pool Championship 2025 has determined the 16 best players advancing to the Last 16. This international-level tournament features 256 of the world’s top players, taking place from October 8 to 12 at the My Dinh Indoor Athletics Sports Palace (Hanoi), with a total prize pool of 200,000 USD, including 40,000 USD awarded to the champion.
The 16 players competing in the Last 16 round are: Dinh Chan Kiet (Vietnam), Jayson Shaw (England), Carlo Biado (Philippines), Aloysius Yapp (Singapore), Robbie Capito (Hong Kong), Moritz Neuhausen (Germany), David Alcaide (Spain), Jonás Souto (Spain), Fraser Patrick (USA), Roberto Gomez (Philippines), Tristan Deocareza (Philippines), Harry Vergara (Philippines), Pijus Labutis (Lithuania), Roland Garcia (Philippines), Raymund Faraon (Philippines), and Max Lechner (Austria).
Dinh Chan Kiet has qualified for the Last 16 round of the Hanoi Open Pool Championship 2025
Therefore, Dinh Chan Kiet is the sole Vietnamese player to reach the Last 16. Seven out of eight Vietnamese competitors were eliminated in the Last 32 round.
Contenders such as Fedor Gorst and defending champion Johann Chua were knocked out even earlier. Fedor Gorst was stopped in the Last 64 after a 6-10 loss to George Antonakis. Johann Chua lost his title at the Hanoi Open 2025 after a 7-10 defeat to Jonas Souto on October 10.
The Hanoi Open Pool 2025 is conducted in two phases: a double-elimination group stage and a knockout stage.
According to matchroom’s announcement, the Hanoi Open Pool Championship, part of the World 9-Ball Tour Elite Majors, will be streamed live on WNT TV, ON Sports News HD, the VTV Prime app, the Vietnam Billiards Promotion YouTube channel, and other partners. Notably, there will be 3 primary TV tables, with the main table broadcast live from the very beginning. Additionally, multiple other tables will be streamed live via partner channels.
