One of England's brightest young players, Morgan Rogers, has shared insights about his future.

After an impressive season with Aston Villa, Morgan Rogers quickly became a highly sought-after name in the transfer market. Both Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have shown interest in the 23-year-old star, especially after Tottenham failed to sign Eberechi Eze, who recently joined Arsenal. However, despite the rumors, Rogers insists he has no plans to leave Villa Park in the near future.

Speaking after being named PFA Young Player of the Year 2025, Rogers said: “I’m happy here. I love football and want nothing more than to play. I’m not thinking about anything else, nor can I predict what the next 12 months will bring. For me, it’s just about enjoying the game and showing everyone what I can do.”

During the 2024/25 season, Rogers made a significant impact with 14 goals and 16 assists across 54 matches in all competitions. His consistent performance and versatility in attacking roles make him an indispensable part of Unai Emery’s system. Therefore, Villa is almost certain not to let this key player leave during this summer’s transfer window.

Rogers’ current contract runs until 2029, following his extension signed in November 2024. Nevertheless, Aston Villa’s management is negotiating another extension to secure the English player amid interest from top clubs.

However, Rogers’ future will largely depend on Aston Villa’s ambitions and achievements. If the Midlands club fails to qualify for the Champions League or compete for major trophies, their chances of retaining this talented winger long-term remain uncertain.

Last season, Aston Villa narrowly missed out on a top-five finish. Consequently, Unai Emery’s primary goal for the 2025/26 season is to improve their ranking to qualify for Europe’s most prestigious competition. However, due to Financial Sustainability Regulations (PSR), the club has been limited in its transfer spending compared to rivals. This has raised concerns among fans about Villa’s competitiveness in the upcoming season.

In this context, retaining Morgan Rogers is like securing a “new signing.” His presence not only guarantees creativity and unpredictability in attack but also signals that Aston Villa can hold on to their brightest talents.
