U9 CLB Hanoi, U9 Viet Hung Thanh Hoa, U9 SLNA, and U9 Van Tam Dong Nai have all qualified for the semifinals of the 2025 U9 National Football Tournament.
On August 21st, four quarterfinal matches of the 2025 U9 National Championship took place in Tay Ninh, determining the semifinalists: U9 CLB Hanoi, U9 Viet Hung Thanh Hoa, U9 SLNA, and U9 Van Tam Dong Nai.
In Quarterfinal 1, U9 Hanoi Police and U9 CLB Hanoi engaged in an exciting back-and-forth battle. Players Dang Khoi and Phuc Nguyen from U9 Hanoi Police created several clear scoring chances for their team. Meanwhile, Anh Nhat and Quang Anh of CLB Hanoi repeatedly threatened the opponent’s goal.
After a goalless first half, U9 CLB Hanoi quickly broke the deadlock early in the second half. Captain and striker Anh Nhat scored a precise finish to put his team ahead 1-0. Not to be outdone, Minh Khang immediately equalized, bringing the score to 1-1 for U9 Hanoi Police.
However, just after leveling the score, U9 Hanoi Police suffered a setback. From a cross by U9 CLB Hanoi, defender Khoi Vi (19) accidentally headed the ball into his own net, giving the visitors a 2-1 victory.
In Quarterfinal 2, U9 Thuan An Binh Duong surprisingly conceded two early goals to U9 Viet Hung Thanh Hoa, scored by Long Dang and Gia Khanh. In the second half, coach Cao Xuan Quang’s team managed only one goal by Quoc Khang. Ultimately, U9 Viet Hung Thanh Hoa defeated U9 Thuan An Binh Duong 2-1 to advance to the semifinals. This was the second match of the day to end with a 2-1 result.
In Quarterfinal 3, U9 Ban Me Ngoc Hung faced U9 SLNA, with the final score again being 2-1. U9 SLNA took an early lead through Phuoc Duc. U9 Ban Me Ngoc Hung quickly equalized with a goal from Gia Phat. However, the young Nghệ An team regained the lead 2-1 with another goal from Gia Phat, which was also the final score of the match.
In the last quarterfinal between U9 Van Tam Dong Nai and U9 Phu Tho, both teams maintained an attacking game throughout the two halves. U9 Phu Tho unexpectedly opened the scoring with a goal by Gia Khanh. However, U9 Van Tam Dong Nai quickly responded with two consecutive goals by Tan Loc and Ngoc Luan, turning the game around to lead 2-1. In the second half, U9 Van Tam Dong Nai dominated the match, and Ngoc Linh completed a brace to secure a 3-1 victory over U9 Phu Tho.
The two semifinal matches will be held on August 23rd.
