The U17 Vietnam squad is set to compete in 5 games over an 8-day span in the 2026 U17 Asian qualifying round.
In the 2026 U17 Asian qualifiers, Vietnam is placed in Group C alongside five familiar opponents: Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong (China), Northern Mariana Islands, and Macau (China). Notably, Vietnam has once again been chosen to host this group’s matches.
According to the schedule, the qualifying matches will take place from November 22 to November 30, 2025. Therefore, Coach Cristiano Roland and his team, along with the other group rivals, will face a demanding fixture list. Specifically, the team will play 5 consecutive matches within 8 days. The opening match on November 22 will see U17 Vietnam face Singapore, followed by a game against Northern Mariana Islands on November 24. On November 26, Coach Roland’s squad will host Hong Kong (China), then face Macau (China) on November 28, and conclude the tournament with a match against Malaysia on November 30.
Group C matches will be held at two stadiums: the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center and the PVF Youth Football Training Center.
To prepare thoroughly for this crucial campaign, U17 Vietnam will gather at the end of October with a core squad selected from players who have shown outstanding form in the 2025 National U17 Championship. The team is expected to conduct a training camp in Japan before entering the qualifiers. There, Coach Roland and his staff will devise strategies to enhance both the technical skills and physical fitness of their players.
At the 2025 U17 Asian Championship finals, despite being grouped with strong teams such as U17 Japan, U17 Australia, and U17 UAE, U17 Vietnam fought resiliently and earned three draws. However, this outcome was insufficient for Coach Cristiano Roland’s team to advance to the next round.
