The Vietnam U17 women's team is set to compete in Group D of the 2026 Asian U17 Women's Qualifiers at Binh Duong Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the draw results on August 7, Vietnam U17 women's team was placed in Group D alongside Hong Kong U17 (China) and Guam U17 for the 2026 Asian U17 Women's Qualifiers.
Notably, the AFC previously granted hosting rights for one qualifying group to the Vietnam Football Federation. The latest update from VFF states that the U17 girls will play two matches at Binh Duong Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City (Go Dau Stadium). In 2025, Binh Duong Stadium will host key matches for Vietnam's national teams. Accordingly, all home matches for Vietnam in the 2026 Asian Cup qualifiers will be held at this venue.
The Vietnam Football Federation has also updated the full match schedule. Specifically, Vietnam U17 will kick off against Guam at 5:00 PM on October 13. Then, at 5:00 PM on October 15, they will host the Hong Kong (China) team.
The qualifiers feature 27 teams divided into 8 groups: 3 groups of 4 teams and 5 groups of 3 teams. The eight group winners will join four teams automatically qualified for the final tournament, which are the participants of the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025 — North Korea, Japan, South Korea, and China.
Currently, the Vietnam U16 women's team (which mainly forms the U17 squad) is competing in the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 Championship in Indonesia. On their opening day, coach Okiyama Masahiko's team secured a convincing 5-0 victory over Cambodia. This will serve as a strong foundation before entering the continental competition.
