Ho Chi Minh City Police FC lost 0-3 to Viettel Army in the early match of round 2 of the LPBank V.League 2025/26. National player Nguyễn Tiến Linh urged fans to be understanding and supportive of the team during this difficult time.
In a post-match interview on the evening of August 22 at Hàng Đẫy Stadium (Hanoi), Tiến Linh expressed: "This is an undesired defeat. However, there is still a long journey ahead, so we will keep striving to improve in every aspect.
Regarding the foreign players, since they have had limited time training with the team, their lack of integration is understandable. I hope the fans sympathize and support Ho Chi Minh City Police FC during this period and continue to accompany the team in the future."

Meanwhile, head coach Lê Huỳnh Đức of Ho Chi Minh City Police FC said: "I believe the players performed well in this match. The main difference was in physical fitness. From the opening game, I noticed that as the match went on, our players became increasingly tired.
We lacked thorough preparation. Some players only had 2-3 days of training with the team, and some foreign players arrived just one day before the match and were not physically ready to play. Still, I highly commend my players’ fighting spirit. They gave their best effort.
We opted for a defensive strategy, but when in possession, the players didn’t have enough stamina to launch attacks, causing the offense to lack support. As I mentioned from the first match, if the striker receives more support, they will have better shooting opportunities. However, the ball mostly remained in our half."
In the third round of the LPBank V.League 2025/26, coach Lê Huỳnh Đức and his team will return to Thống Nhất Stadium to face HAGL FC at 19:15 on August 28.
