Ho Chi Minh City Police FC has introduced a new Brazilian fitness coach.
According to various sources, fitness coach Rafael Vieira Bispo is believed to have joined Ho Chi Minh City Police FC.
Although this information has not been officially announced, the Brazilian expert somewhat confirmed it by posting a photo wearing the Ho Chi Minh City Police jersey alongside his compatriot Guilherme Almeida, the goalkeeping coach of Viettel Army FC. The reason is that Ho Chi Minh City Police recently traveled to Viettel Army's home ground for a match in the second round of the V-League.
Regarding coach Rafael Bispo, he began his career in 2006 as a fitness specialist at Estrela-ES in Portugal. Later, the Brazilian expert also worked in Iran's First Division, and previously gained experience in football environments in Armenia and Argentina.
In the 2024/25 season, Rafael Bispo was appointed as the fitness coach of Kheybar FC before his contract expired in May 2025.
With his diverse experience in top football environments worldwide, coach Rafael Bispo is expected to strengthen Ho Chi Minh City Police FC’s squad, helping them pursue the objectives set by the club’s management.
This summer, Ho Chi Minh City Police FC underwent a major transformation in the transfer market after rebranding from the previous name, Ho Chi Minh City FC.
The police-affiliated club now boasts several quality stars such as the current Golden Ball winner Nguyễn Tiến Linh, Phạm Đức Huy, and Đặng Văn Lắm. Additionally, they have signed a number of famous foreign players including Matheus Felipe, Endrick Dos Santos, and most recently Raphael Utzig.
However, these additions have yet to show their full effectiveness. After a convincing win against Hanoi FC in the V-League opener, coach Lê Huỳnh Đức’s squad unexpectedly suffered a 0-3 defeat to Viettel Army in the second round.
This indicates that Tiến Linh and his teammates still have much to improve if they want to become serious contenders in this season’s championship race.
