Coach Ruben Amorim believes that MU is now an "improved version" and ready to face Fulham in the second round of the 2025/26 Premier League. The Portuguese manager aims to secure the first victory of the new season with his team.
Despite a 0-1 defeat in their opening match against Arsenal, Coach Ruben Amorim remains very confident in MU’s progress ahead of their away game at Fulham.
During the press conference, the Portuguese strategist stated: "We have improved. We played better, but there is still a lot to refine. Each match has different circumstances regarding space, opponents, pressure… all of which affect the game.
The most important thing is to maintain consistency. Consistency doesn’t mean always playing the same way, but rather sustaining quality and always striving to be ourselves. Even during preseason and the match against Arsenal, that consistency was very evident".
According to Amorim, the biggest improvement lies in the ability to build play from the back, with players losing the ball less frequently than last season. The confidence, attitude, and mentality of the Red Devils’ stars have greatly improved.
Coach Amorim emphasized that the arrival of new signings like Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko has added the necessary variety to the attack. The former Sporting Lisbon coach said:"Now, MU has more options like Cunha and Sesko which help us diversify and create more chances. That is the weapon MU must utilize effectively".
Facing Fulham at Craven Cottage has never been easy. Therefore, Coach Amorim remains cautious despite MU being favored over Fulham: "Fulham are always tough opponents. They have a clear identity, extensive experience, and a deep understanding of the league. With home advantage, they will play comfortably and confidently, so this will be a challenging match for MU. However, my sole objective against them is to secure 3 points at all costs".
