Goalkeeper Trung Kiên’s remarkable display helped HAGL hold Hanoi FC to a 0-0 draw, earning their first point of the V-League 2025/26 season.
At the post-match press conference, HAGL’s coach Lê Quang Trãi stated: "Hanoi’s squad is heavily invested, featuring a strong roster and consistent success over many years, whereas we fielded a young team, with Trung Kiên among them. Today, he performed excellently, extremely well. This was his peak performance."

Although we only earned one point at Hang Day Stadium today, I sincerely thank my players for their wholehearted effort. This result is the fruit of the entire team's hard work. Hanoi faced significant pressure after their opening loss; they needed to win and prepared carefully. We also analyzed the opponent thoroughly and prepared cautiously going into the match.
I also commend the referees for bravely consulting VAR to validate our effort in a situation initially judged as offside by the officials. It was truly a tough fight for us to secure this point."
Meanwhile, Japanese head coach Makoto Teguramori expressed disappointment that his team failed to capitalize on chances: "The match had many moments, but we must focus on our team’s performance. HAGL aimed for one point and succeeded. We have lost one match and drawn one, which is regrettable, but Hanoi FC must continue striving in upcoming games.
In the first half, we had several scoring opportunities, and even more in the second half, but failed to find the net. Had we scored, the match outcome could have been different."
Trung Kiên personally shared: "My teammates and I gave our utmost effort, and today’s result is well deserved. Everyone knows this was a very tough game. HAGL stayed fully focused and fought until the final seconds to achieve today’s success.
As for me personally, I just try my best according to fans’ expectations. I alone could not have secured this precious draw today."
With the 0-0 draw at Hang Day, HAGL has 1 point from 2 matches and temporarily climbs to second last place. Hanoi FC also has 1 point from 2 matches but ranks above HAGL due to a superior goal difference.
