Legendary Thierry Henry made a big surprise by sending a special message to Eberechi Eze, Arsenal’s new signing worth £67.5 million, right after the 27-year-old midfielder officially joined the Emirates Stadium.

Eberechi Eze is the seventh major signing for the Gunners this summer transfer window, marking an emotional deal since Eze once trained at Arsenal’s academy as a youngster.

In a conversation with former striker Ian Wright, Eze revealed that Thierry Henry was his biggest idol during his academy days. Shortly after, Wright surprised Eze with an unforgettable moment by playing an audio message from Henry.

The French legend sent this message: “First of all, welcome to Arsenal. You don’t know how happy we all are. Everyone knows you’ve always dreamed of wearing this club’s shirt and now that dream has come true. Make this opportunity something special.”

Although he did not play in Arsenal’s 5-0 victory over Leeds United last weekend due to the transfer paperwork being completed late, Eze was introduced to the entire Emirates crowd. He appeared confident wearing the new number 10 shirt and watched his teammates from the stands, witnessing coach Mikel Arteta’s team continue their perfect start to the Premier League season.

According to plans, Eze is likely to make his Arsenal debut next weekend when the team visits Liverpool in the Premier League’s third round. His arrival promises to boost the Gunners’ attacking creativity, especially after missing out on several other transfer targets this summer.
