Trent Alexander-Arnold recently signed with Real Madrid in June, yet the ex-Liverpool defender could be forced to depart from Bernabéu shortly.

Real Madrid paid 10 million euros to Liverpool to terminate the contract one month early, allowing Trent Alexander-Arnold to join Bernabéu during the summer. However, his time in Spain quickly turned disappointing, completely contrasting his impressive debut when the defender confidently spoke in Spanish.
Last week, multiple sources reported that Trent is about to be excluded from coach Xabi Alonso’s plans following a series of poor performances, combined with Dani Carvajal’s comeback. A Real fan, Coto Matamoro, frankly shared with Sport: “What’s happening to Trent is a tragedy; every time he steps onto the pitch for Madrid, we have no expectations. This is a signing just for show, I can’t explain it. He hasn’t contributed anything. If this continues, Carvajal will definitely start.”
However, the situation is even more severe. According to Indykaila, Real Madrid is ready to sell Alexander-Arnold and a return to the Premier League is entirely possible.
The Indykaila report reveals Manchester City is closely monitoring Trent with plans to sign the 26-year-old defender next January. Pep Guardiola’s team has approached the English star twice before, and now if he loses his spot to Carvajal, “The Citizens could make a sensational offer.”
Man City is currently searching for a long-term successor to Kyle Walker. Meanwhile, Trent is still struggling to settle in Madrid. If his form doesn’t improve, this deal is completely feasible.
Nevertheless, the fee will not be cheap. Trent is contracted with Real Madrid until June 2031 and is estimated to have a transfer value of 69.4 million euros. However, since the club spent a relatively small amount to acquire him along with a high salary, Real might accept a loss and sell him at a much lower price.
