Toni Kroos surprisingly wants to 'join' a Premier League club

Toni Kroos aims to join Newcastle United following his standout display versus Liverpool, even though they lost.

Toni Kroos unexpectedly desires to become part of Newcastle United, as the team made a strong impression on him in their 2-3 loss to Liverpool.

In a podcast “Einfach mal Luppen” with his brother Felix Kroos, Kroos jokingly said: “Today, I will register as a Newcastle member.” Newcastle trailed Liverpool 1-0 in the first half and received a red card just before halftime. Early in the second half, they conceded again to make it 2-0. However, the "Magpies" equalized to 2-2 before suffering a heartbreaking 2-3 defeat in the 90+10th minute. Kroos shared: “I am genuinely 1000% impressed by what they showed against Liverpool. I know Newcastle is a club with rich tradition, now owned by Saudi Arabia with many surrounding issues, but I don’t care about that. Just judging by their spirit, it’s truly admirable.”

Kroos enthusiastically added: “They really captivated me. After the match, I read a quote from Jamie Carragher: ‘That might be one of the worst performances in the history of a winning team, and also one of the best performances in the history of a losing team.’ I totally agree.”

Kroos analyzed: “Putting aside technical quality, that spirit really made me take my hat off. I started supporting Newcastle from small details in the second half. Their body language, while constantly under pressure, was truly commendable.”

He continued: “Being 2-0 down, losing a player, then what happened at the 55th minute was absolutely crazy. Spirit-wise, it’s unbelievable. I rarely see a team reduced to 10 players still playing so proactively and leaving such a strong mark throughout the entire second half.”

Kroos concluded: “I was very surprised by how much it affected Liverpool. Sometimes you see weaker or shorthanded teams rise up to fight back, but they usually only manage 5 to 10 minutes to score. Here, Newcastle maintained that intensity for the full 45 minutes. Liverpool, despite having a numerical advantage, almost only cleared the ball and couldn’t keep control. It was truly insane.”
