Hà Tĩnh Football Club shows a kind gesture towards the Vietnam national team midfielder

Hà Tĩnh FC and the Hà Tĩnh Supporters Association paid a visit to Doãn Ngọc Tân after his severe injury in the third round of the V-League.

Having just returned from injury recently, Doãn Ngọc Tân faced more bad luck with another injury. In the recent match against Hà Tĩnh, the Thanh Hóa midfielder had a strong collision with Nguyễn Hoàng Trung Nguyên and Joseph Onoja. He immediately showed signs of pain, was substituted, and sent to the hospital for examination.

The results revealed that Doãn Ngọc Tân suffered fractures in three ribs, pleural effusion, pneumothorax, and difficulty breathing, requiring immediate surgery. The Vietnam national team midfielder was treated at Hà Tĩnh hospital and is expected to be sidelined for 2-3 months or possibly longer.

On the morning of August 28, representatives from Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh Club leadership and the Hà Tĩnh football supporters group visited and encouraged player Doãn Ngọc Tân at Hà Tĩnh General Hospital.

This injury will cause Doãn Ngọc Tân to miss the upcoming Vietnam national team training camp again. Earlier in April 2025, he fractured his fibula during training with teammates, forcing him to sit out the rest of the season. At that time, the midfielder expressed his sadness over such a serious injury.

Doãn Ngọc Tân’s absence will be a significant loss for Thanh Hóa FC. They have yet to stabilize their playing style under coach Choi Won-kwon, with poor results after 3 rounds: 2 losses and 1 draw. The Thanh Hóa team is now in an even more difficult position.

During the FIFA Days in September, Vietnam’s national team will play two friendlies against CAHN and Nam Định. Currently, coach Kim Sang Sik has not decided on any replacements for Doãn Ngọc Tân. Due to this injury, Doãn Ngọc Tân will also miss the next two Vietnam matches in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, including the game against Nepal in October.

During the FIFA Days in September, Vietnam’s national team will face CAHN and Nam Định in two friendly matches. At present, coach Kim Sang Sik has not yet planned to call up a substitute for Doãn Ngọc Tân.
