Struggling to beat HAGL, Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức is somewhat satisfied

Công an TP HCM had a tough time securing a 1-0 victory over HAGL in the third round of the V-League. Although dominant, the home team at Thống Nhất Stadium missed many chances. After the match, Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức expressed his satisfaction with the team's win, even though the players endured a challenging game. He mentioned that the team did not start the season well-prepared but has been improving with each match.

He praised the overall team performance: "Today the team played well, creating many opportunities but missed quite a few. Fortunately, we managed to win; a draw would have been disappointing. In the first half, we had numerous chances. The players performed well and are improving every day. Given the short time, I cannot ask for more. I feel satisfied."

When asked about striker Tiến Linh, who missed several chances, Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức shared: "When I was playing, I also missed many opportunities and felt frustrated. But football is like that, influenced by factors such as the pitch and mentality. I will try to help the players regain their form and best feelings."

He also emphasized that Tiến Linh has only been with the team for over two weeks, while the foreign players have just arrived 4-5 days ago. Despite the short time, they have connected relatively well.

The coach stated that his task is to build the best cohesion among players so they can perform more effectively. He admitted: "After beating Hanoi FC, we received a lot of praise. Against Thể Công - Viettel, the team lacked stamina and failed to meet demands. In this match, the team also tired in the second half, especially in one-on-one situations where we couldn't win the duels."

Regarding the foreign players, Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức believes it is too early to draw conclusions. "The foreign players have good quality, but their fitness is not yet sufficient, and they have not fully integrated. We still have a lot of work to do to improve their connection," he said.
