Official: Lewandowski receives good news from the Polish National Team

Robert Lewandowski has officially rejoined the Polish national team as captain after earlier disputes, prepared for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Robert Lewandowski – Barcelona's star player – has officially come back to the Poland national squad as captain after a long absence due to fatigue and disagreements with the coaching staff.

Lewandowski withdrew from the Polish national team during the summer international break because he felt physically exhausted. This decision led to criticism from former coach Michal Probierz, who chose to strip Lewandowski of the captaincy. This action prompted the veteran Barcelona striker to declare he would not participate in the national team as long as Probierz remained coach.

However, the situation changed when Probierz resigned and Jan Urban was appointed as Poland’s new coach. Urban took the initiative to mend relations with Lewandowski and called him back to the national team for upcoming matches. Moreover, Urban restored Lewandowski’s captaincy, marking the end of previous controversies.

Coach Jan Urban stated: “I want us to start the training camp with a fresh beginning. Robert Lewandowski will be the captain, and he will join me at the press conference on Monday.” This statement clearly confirms the improvement in the relationship between Lewandowski and the Polish national team, while also opening a new chapter for the squad.

This September, Poland will face the Netherlands on September 4th in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, followed by a home match against Finland on September 7th. These will be crucial games for the team, especially with Lewandowski back leading the squad.

Lewandowski – who has scored numerous goals throughout his career – will continue to be a key player for Poland in their quest for qualification to the 2026 World Cup.
