Vietnam National Team loses 2 key players for matches against CAHN and Nam Dinh

According to the latest announcement, the Vietnam National Team has two more members injured and leaving the squad for the upcoming matches against CAHN and Nam Dinh.

The Vietnam squad has experienced notable changes. Before the team gathered, midfielder Doãn Ngọc Tân suffered a rib fracture after a heavy collision during the Đông Á Thanh Hóa vs. Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh match in the 3rd round of the V-League. Although his condition stabilized after emergency hospitalization, the 31-year-old midfielder couldn’t recover in time to participate in this training camp.

Besides Ngọc Tân, two other players, Nguyễn Quang Hải and Nguyễn Hai Long, are also unable to join due to injuries. To reinforce the team, head coach Kim Sang Sik has called up left-back Phan Du Học from HAGL club.

Currently, the Vietnam National Team has a full roster from clubs including Hanoi, Công An Hà Nội, Ninh Bình, Nam Định, Công An TP.HCM, and Hoàng Anh Gia Lai. Players from Thể Công - Viettel and Becamex TPHCM will join the squad after August 30 due to their late fixtures in the 3rd round of the V-League.

Since coach Kim Sang Sik is leading the Vietnam U23 team at the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup qualifiers, the senior team will be temporarily managed by assistant coach Đinh Hồng Vinh. During the training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the national team will play two internal friendly matches, facing Công An Hà Nội club on September 4 and Thép Xanh Nam Định club on September 7.

In this squad list, alongside the core players, there are new faces such as goalkeeper Quan Văn Chuẩn (Hanoi), defenders Trần Hoàng Phúc (Công An TP.HCM), Đinh Quang Kiệt (HAGL), midfielder Lý Công Hoàng Anh (Thép Xanh Nam Định), and forward Phạm Gia Hưng (Ninh Bình).

This is the third training camp of the year 2025 for the team, primarily aimed at reviewing, checking, and assessing the squad to prepare for upcoming matches in the final round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers scheduled for October.
