Manchester United has finalized the acquisition of goalkeeper Abdulla Al-Hammadi, who impressed during his trial this month and will join the club without a transfer fee. He formerly played for Al Wasl in the UAE professional league and served as captain of the UAE U18 national youth team. This year, he traveled to England to pursue a career abroad.

In March, Al-Hammadi trialed at Everton and played for their U21 team against Bolton B in a test match held at the newly built Hirdickson Stadium, keeping a clean sheet and becoming the first goalkeeper to do so at Everton’s new ground.
In August, Al-Hammadi arrived at Manchester United. After the contract of youth goalkeeper Hubert Graczyk expired and he left, the club needed to find a replacement. Graczyk, who came from Arsenal’s youth system, stayed at United for only one year before departing.
The 20-year-old Al-Hammadi’s performance during the trial left a strong impression on United’s youth coaches, earning him a contract. However, he must complete registration first, which will take some time. As a free agent, United does not need to finalize the deal before the summer transfer deadline.
It must be emphasized that Al-Hammadi is a signing for United’s youth academy and will not affect the first team’s goalkeeper recruitment plans. Transfers within the Red Devils’ youth system are more frequent than in the senior squad, with several players expected to be loaned or permanently transferred by the September 1 deadline.

Among them, left-back Harry Amass, who has made his first-team debut, will join Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship. Although Sheffield Wednesday was once banned from transfers due to unpaid wages by the owner, the ban has now been lifted, and they promise Amass regular starting opportunities. United sources say playing time was the priority when considering loan offers, and after internal discussions, Amass was designated for loan due to the arrival of new signing Diego León, thus he did not participate in first-team training.
Midfielder Zach Baumann will make a permanent move to Championship side Norwich City. The 18-year-old Baumann was part of United’s U18 title-winning squad and has been selected for the Ukraine youth national team. His transfer does not include a fixed fee but contains performance-related clauses that could generate income for United if he excels in the future.
United’s English forward Ethan Ennis will be loaned to League Two club Fleetwood Town. Ennis did not take part in United U21’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the Premier League 2 as his departure was confirmed. The 20-year-old has performed well this season, scoring 4 goals and assisting twice in 7 matches. Several clubs, including Plymouth, have shown interest. He was also loaned last season, making 17 appearances for Doncaster Rovers in League One.
Additionally, Ethan Williams, who scored during pre-season after being promoted to the first team by Amolin, has renewed his contract and will be loaned to Scottish Premiership side Falkirk. Last season, Williams played for Cheltenham Town in League Two, scoring his first senior career goal. United extended his contract until 2028 with an option for an extra year before loaning him out. His move to the Scottish Premiership awaits only the international transfer certificate.

United’s youth teams had a good weekend, with the U21s beating Manchester City 2-1 in Premier League 2, featuring a goal from star player Obi Martin. However, the brightest star was “Little Messi” Gabriel, who represented the U18s.
In United’s 4-0 thrashing of Derby County, Gabriel completed a hat-trick in under 30 minutes! He scored in the 5th, 14th, and 27th minutes of the first half.
Match footage shows Gabriel’s first two goals came from goalkeeper errors, leaving him with an open net, while his third was a left-footed low shot to the far corner on a counterattack.
Only 14 years old, Gabriel is the son of former Irish international Joe O’Sullivan. Due to age restrictions, he is ineligible to participate in this season’s FA Youth Cup. Nevertheless, United have high hopes for him and arranged for him to train regularly with Ruben Amolin’s first team after signing a new contract this summer.

Although he cannot compete yet, Gabriel has already been assigned an official squad number at United—number 95, the highest in the club’s history—and has signed a sponsorship deal with Nike.
