World Cup Qualifiers: Denmark vs Scotland! Market value can be deceiving, many key Scottish players have questionable form?

Today's first topic isthe World Cup qualifier: Denmark vs Scotland!

Many fans tend to refer to the market values of both sides when watching national team matches.

In most cases, a higher market value does mean stronger ability.

But sometimes it’s inaccurate, for example, Scotland’s value today might be inflated.

For this match, just looking at the market values, 390 million and 220 million, less than twice, which is not a big difference in football matches.

But in reality,Scotland’s market value may be somewhat inflated, because most of their highly valued players are not in good form.

For example, many of their top-valued players have various issues:

some haven’t played a single minute this season;

some have very few appearances, some are temporarily injured, and others are in poor individual or team form;

the combined market value of these questionable players reaches 163 million, which is more than 70% of the whole team’s value.

So Scotland’s team value might be overestimated, easily causing fans to overrate their fighting strength.

In June this year, I witnessed a rather amusing situation —the famously defensive Iceland team actually managed to break through Scotland’s goal using high pressing.
