World Cup Qualifiers: Denmark vs Scotland! Market value can be deceiving, many key Scottish players have questionable form?

Today's first topic isthe World Cup qualifier: Denmark vs Scotland!

Many fans tend to refer to the market values of both sides when watching national team matches.

In most cases, a higher market value does mean stronger ability.

But sometimes it’s inaccurate, for example, Scotland’s value today might be inflated.

For this match, just looking at the market values, 390 million and 220 million, less than twice, which is not a big difference in football matches.

But in reality,Scotland’s market value may be somewhat inflated, because most of their highly valued players are not in good form.

For example, many of their top-valued players have various issues:

some haven’t played a single minute this season;

some have very few appearances, some are temporarily injured, and others are in poor individual or team form;

the combined market value of these questionable players reaches 163 million, which is more than 70% of the whole team’s value.

So Scotland’s team value might be overestimated, easily causing fans to overrate their fighting strength.

An inflated market value is just one problem,Scotland’s outdated tactics are also very obvious.

In June this year, I witnessed a rather amusing situation —the famously defensive Iceland team actually managed to break through Scotland’s goal using high pressing.

High pressing is not surprising nowadays; very few teams in the top five leagues don’t use it.

The problem is, Scotland conceded goals to Iceland’s high pressing, which is somewhat laughable,Iceland’s tactics are actually more advanced than Scotland’s?

Steve Clarke has coached Scotland for six years and had some highlights in earlier years.

But we can also see that world football has progressed rapidly in recent years, while Clarke has failed to keep up and has fallen behind.

Scotland’s world ranking reflects this as well, showing a downward trend overall.

Of course, this cannot be blamed on Clarke alone,the entire Scottish football scene has been deteriorating.

Look at how Scotland’s two big clubs have performed in European competitions?

Rangers set the record for the worst Champions League group stage results,and recently suffered a humiliating 6-0 defeat by Club Brugge.

Celtic were shockingly eliminated by Almaty,, despite having a market value more than ten times higher, they played terribly, and no excuse can justify that.

With outdated tactics, declining talent, and a poor football environment in Scotland… Clarke is really struggling to make something out of nothing.

And now, Scotland is at a weak moment because those rare high-value stars have barely played competitive matches this season and are likely in poor form.

So although the market values of Scotland and Denmark seem close and the squads look strong,

in reality, their fighting strengths are probably vastly different.

Can Denmark satisfy their fans? What do you think? I’m looking forward to them winning the match!
